If there are any public parks near you, you might consider those. Tink would probably like it, and you could pack a lunch fairly cheaply. That was about the only outings my family ever went on, and I have fond memories of them.

You have my sympathies. I’m not sure who’s ruder-them, oryour MIL for not telling you, since she apparently knew. Or did she just assume you wouldn’t notice the extra people who needed beds and to be fed?

No, as soon as they called her, she called to tell us. But I am very frustrated. She said that she doesn't mind the short notice because she doesn't get to see them very often (which is true). OTOH it's our house, not hers that they're invading!

I'm up earlier than I would like because of this. Better get cleaning.
