Cranborne Dorset by Richard Walker Via Flickr: Cranborne in Dorset. The village dates from Saxon times and was recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086 as Creneburne, meaning stream (bourne) of cranes. In this street view we see a man walking his dog, and the C16 "New Inn" and on the opposite side is the WVS "Book Shop" The Driveway in the bottom left foreground is the entrance to Cranborne Manor.
