For my DT example I made a set of Christmas cards picking up the colours, shapes and textures in the mood board.

I used the Kaisercraft ‘Home for Christmas’ collection along with a few bits and pieces from my stash.

How cute is that snowman button?

I can’t resist a patchwork-style card.

The details of the December 123 challenge are now up on the 123 Challenge Blog. This month the challenge is to create a layout featuring silver (colour), believe (word) and layers (technique).

I used the Kaisercraft Fosted collection to scrap some pics of my little man having a blast in a giant snow dome last year.

I layered lots of papers behind the photos, including papers with the word ‘believe’ in various places.

I embellished with some coordinating die cuts, wood veneers I coloured with embossing powder than contains silver glitter and some silver sequins.

This month we feature The Summer House by Hilda Rix Nicholas.

The additional criteria for this month is Vintage style.

For this challenge I chose to make a card.  I was inspired by the colours (lots of teal with pops of blue, pink and orange), the flowers and the lattice pattern.

I used papers and embellishments from several Crate Paper collections by Maggie Holmes. I really love how she balances between modern and vintage in her collections.

Welcome to week 4 of the SBT50 ‘The Block’ super challenge. For this week we are renovating the laundry. As usual, there is a choice of two ‘rooms’ to play along with, along with a mini photo prompt challenge. For my DT example I played along with the first challenge.

For this challenge I scrapped some photos of my son in the laundry a few years ago. I used papers from the Kaisercraft ‘Off the Wall’ collection (which has lots of blues) and embellished with 3 stars, 3 arrows, 3 bits of twine, 3 enamel dots and three splatters of ink.

Welcome to the final quarter of the year! As always, the start of a new month means new scrappy challenges to play along with. First up is a great sketch and/or colour palette for the October Sketchy Boards challenge. 

For this challenge I made a layout about my niece using the Crate Paper bloom collection. I used a background border paper which was a good match for the marble table top and made tags with other patterned papers in soft colours.

I used some gold glitter chipboard stickers for the title and added some heart punched from gold glitter card stock. I also added with some ivory ribbon to match the roses and some machine stitching in gold thread.

All kinds of papercraft projects are eligible and there are some great DT examples on the FB page so be sure to check it out.

With two of my siblings getting married this month, I haven’t had much time to play along with papercraft challenges. However, I did make time for the Kaisercraft challenge. This month’s challenge is a moodboard challenge:

For this challenge I made an snail mail folder for my Kaisercraft Exchange partner:

I used lots of icy blue and silver papers from the Frosted collection inspired by the colours and snowflakes in the mood board. I also included a large wooden fourish to match the wooden logs in the images, and created a wreath using a Lace paper cutting technique.

For the inside of the folder I used my die cutting machine to make a series of flaps for an advent calendar. 

I used a sheet of silver Kaisercraft number stickers to number each of the flaps placed a different Kaisercraft wooden flourish under each of the flaps.

I posted it today along with a few other goodies, which I’ll share once it has been recieved :)

I’m planning to make my Christmas cards while I’m still in the festive spirit. I usually make them in a rush in December but I’m determined to be more organised this year :)
