Hey hi hello everyone, and happy Feature Artist Friday! Back at Katsucon 2012 (first convention I went to as a photographer,) I met a very cool cosplayer who said she was planning on putting more focus in cosplay photography. We exchanged information so I could look at her work, and I immediately could tell I ran into someone who was going to make waves with her photography. That person was Nikita of @cozpho Photography. Nikita has a style which I think is best described as “cinematic” with a certain flow to them. It’s cinematic because her shots look as if they come straight out of a movie or tv show. As for flow, I know that sounds super artsy-fartsy, but that’s honestly how I’d describe it in a word. When you look at a photo she’s taken, your eyes gently glide around the image… okay so that description was equally as artsy-fartsy, but hopefully you at least understand her work is the bee’s knees! No matter who the model is, Nikita has a way of making sure you have a fantastic time during your shoot (as well get great photos.) She’s one of the kindest people I’ve had the pleasure of knowing. Take that kindness and combine that with her talent as a photographer, and you get photos that are just simply awesome. COZ they’re PHOnomenal! … She’s also awesome because I can hang with her and she’ll actually appreciate my horrible puns (at least to an extent!) Be sure to follow Nikita at Cozpho Photography. Pouf! Back view of my Sakizou Chocolate cosplay worn to Katsucon this year. I patterned and made all components of this cosplay, even the gold beads on the skirt! This cosplay has LOTS of scallops, so I became quite proficient at creating scalloped hems after the umpteenth one. Hehe.
