TW: bullying, accident resulting in serious bodily harm/injury, TBI, hospitalization and surgery
Born in Turkey but raised in Coyote Valley, Bek was always the girl who never quite felt like she fit in, never quite felt comfortable in her own skin. She was shy. Quiet. A little too smart for her own good. Growing up, that meant she only had a small circle of genuine friends... and a bunch of other classmates who loved to crack jokes and have a laugh behind her back. Ultimately, it was the latter that ended up changing her life. Bek was 16, barely within her sophomore year of high school, when she got invited out by a group of classmates that otherwise rarely paid her the time of day. If that moment felt a little too good to be true that's probably (definitely) because it was. After an endless amount of peer pressure to perform stupid dares she ended up caving... and the result was an accident that left her with a TBI and a shattered leg, halting all of her future plans.
Bek never went back to school after that night; even her parents agreed it was easier to for her to be homeschooled when she had to contend with multiple surgeries and an endless cycle of physical therapy. But if the real reason she dreaded any sort of return was because she couldn't stomach the thought of facing those who'd left her behind, unsure if she was dead or alive, could anyone really blame her?
Bek high tailed it out of Coyote Valley the moment she turned 18 and, up until about a year ago, hadn't stepped foot within city limits again. If given her way she probably would've gone the rest of her life without ever returning to the town that only ever tried to break her... but one mess of an "almost" wedding and a groom nowhere to be found saw her running home, ghosts and demons of the past be damned.

— neighbors, whether that's downtown in general or others who live in the same building; co-workers at SNMH, childhood friends; childhood frenemies; someone who was involved in the accident that night (could be that they were there but not an active participant in what led to her fall); friends she made elsewhere over the years she's been gone; patients or family members of current patients; ex somethings (v. casual) from her time spent elsewhere; new friends she's made since returning to town; more coming soon because tbh ya girl only has one brain cell and it's already been spent.

the new york time
june 2015
Renowned emergency physician Dr. Henry Isaacs, formerly chief of emergency medicine at Lincoln Hospital in New York City, has recently relocated to the small town of Coyote Valley, California. Known for his quick thinking, passionate approach to patient care, and prolific contributions to medical literature, Dr. Isaacs’ move follows the tragic loss of his wife, Dr. Bethany Isaacs, and their young son several years ago. In interviews, he cites a profound need to change pace and [...]
moved from nyc to coyote valley ten years ago
this came after his wife beth and their son vincent died in a tragic car accident
though henry had tried to handle his grief by working even more, obviously it didn't work
he now does the exact same thing he was doing before but in a considerably smaller hospital which, honestly, should be good for his mental health
he bought a small house in southside where he tries to live a more peaceful life
he's known to have a dry sense of humour (though he can be silly at times!) but he remains very empathetic and caring. he's just a no-nonsense guy, you know. but he'll still worry for you if you faceplant in front of him.
you'll find him at the hospital, at bookshops, coffeeshops, music stores
you'll also find him running before every shift and on off days, going on hikes
he absolutely loves dogs and if he wasn't a workaholic, would have one of his own
pretty much everyone in town knows him and he has been known to make a few house calls here and there, especially for an older neighbour. he can’t really switch off being a doctor.
please someone explain to him what memes are
despises radishes.
some wanted connections...
this is not an exhaustive list and i'm open to a lot! let's plot!
COLLEAGUES; could be antagonistic or not. he usually has good work relationships (0/?)
MENTEE/FATHER FIGURE; someone who, in the weirdest turn of events, looks up to him. he truly doesn’t understand why (surely there are better candidates…?). but in the long run, henry learns to care for that person wellbeing. the possibilities are endless and i’m a sucker for father-figure plots so…(0/1)
PATIENTS; could be regulars, could be a one time deal, maybe someone who made an impression on him or just detested his bedside manners (they’re usually good but some days are Not Good) (0/?)
FRIENDS; don’t expect a declaration of friendship but there will be signs henry and you are friends. like the mother-henning, the coffee, the sharing of books, you know…regular friendship stuff (0/?)
MAYBE ROMANTIC? love is difficult, because henry comes with a lot of baggage. and dating is definitely not his forte. but who doesn’t love a good slow burn story? though no age-gap, sorry! (0/1)
ONE NIGHT; it happened once, and both of them agreed they were better of as friends. but sometimes there’s that tension underneath. could turn romantic or not. (0/1)
ENEMIES; honestly, who has time for rivals and ennemies? certainly not henry but sometimes you just don’t click with someone. as long as you don’t find yourself in need of urgent care, it’s fine (0/2) bonus point for an enemies to lovers plot twist

personality.
the eye of the storm. on the surface, edwin is quiet, composed, and only slightly aloof—the type to watch a party from the corner of the room, muttering wry commentary under his breath. but beneath the layers of sarcasm and self-control lies someone deeply sentimental and loyal to a fault. he's principled and pragmatic, often stepping into the role of mediator or voice of reason even when it weighs heavily on him.
edwin is still learning how to be a person outside of obligation. years spent being "the responsible one" has made him emotionally rigid, slow to trust, and hesitant to express what he really wants. he craves connection but fears being truly seen. he wants joy but punishes himself for wanting it.
he does, however, have a the softest spot for the silly and sincere; the kind of things that make him feel, that remind him of the best of humanity and what the world has to offer. he's rather indulgent, not-so-secretly nerdy, and gets more excited than he'll admit about small, dumb things. despite his withdrawn nature, he cares deeply and feels everything a little too much.
born and raised in quincy, massachusetts, edwin—then still going by eunwoo—grew up in a first-generation korean household where expectations were rarely spoken but always understood. his parents worked long hours, and he, the middle of three, learned to fill in the gaps: translator, homework helper, babysitter, not to mention emotional anchor for the parents, the overburdened eldest sibling, and the overlooked younger sibling. he got good at keeping things together. maybe too good.
a naturally bright kid with a talent for systems and logic, edwin funneled his energy into computers early on. tech made sense—people didn't. by the time he was in his twenties, he had earned a degree in computer science, landed a steady job in IT, and carved out a safe, predictable rhythm of life that left little room for error. or feeling. he lived quietly, responsibly, and a little too much in his own head.
after a series of slow-moving emotional reckonings being too close to family in massachusetts, edwin packed up and left massachusetts. no big declarations. just a change of scenery and the hope of figuring out who he is when he isn't carrying everything (or everyone).
edwin's been in coyote valley for two months now, living in a modest apartment downtown, being the resident tech guy at the hospital, trying to make peace with the fact that starting over is harder than people make it sound. he's not looking to be saved or reinvented, but he wouldn't mind being known in that slow, patient way real connection forms. for now, he's keeping his head down, doing his thing, and slowly collecting pieces of a life that might actually belong to him.

✦ — BACKGROUND
♔ —— Society says that girls can’t be pretty, smart, and funny all at once. Cece completely missed that memo. and not exactly in a girl power kind of way, more of an i’m better than everybody else kind of way. So Cece had an ego. So what? it’s true: she is pretty. she is smart. she is funny. her confidence in her god-given gifts grated some people, of course. but she was a magnetic force, whether you liked her or not.
♔ —— Cece is a tough girl who knows what she wants and how to get it.
♔ —— Cece had a normal childhood. she was raised by his parents in Austin, Texas.
♔ —— Cece can be described as “a girl that always gets her way, referring to how she tends get what she wants easier than other people might. Hailey does have a dark side like everyone does. Cece is a bit of wild child and a rebel.
♔ —— She can be an emotional rollercoaster when it comes to her state of mind depending on the situation.
♔ —— Cece can be a bit fragile when it comes opening up to anyone emotionally or otherwise.
♔ —— Cece is a hopeless romantic but when she finds someone attractive she goes after what she wants with no hesitation whatsoever.
♔ —— Cece is very much a mess of contradictions. she loves the feeling of being wanted, but at the same time worries that people are looking at her for the wrong reasons. She loves the person she’s becoming, but deep down, she can’t quite overcome the self-hatred that has been ingrained in her. She’s caught between who she really is and who she wants to be, and sometimes she gets a little lost in the midst of it. On the outside, however, Cece's is outspoken and opinionated. She won’t hesitate to tell you how she’s feeling, positive or negative. She’s fiercely protective of her friends, and extremely loyal. She’s passionate, fiery, and headstrong. those who really know her, however, might catch glimpses of her more vulnerable side. She treats those she holds dear like absolute gold and would go to the ends of the earth for them. On the flip side of that, though, she holds a grudge like no other, and finds it hard to forgive those who have wronged her.

Trigger warnings: addiction, suicide mention, needles mention, death
Raised in Truckee by a single mother Rocco Wade was destined to achieve big things in life. His mother would tell him when he was just a child that he was going to save them, that he’d be a sports star or found a business. It was a lot of pressure to rest on the shoulders of a kid but Rocco had believed every word his mother said.
There’s some vague recollections of and older and younger siblings somewhere in the picture. It wouldn’t be until he was in the start of his twenties that Rocco would learn of his older brother running away and his younger sister being taken away. The memories he’s able to look back on, it was just him and his mother, wherever life took them.
Most of his childhood consisted of moving around quite a lot. There were many apartments, some even less desirable than others, and sometimes they made a home out of his mother’s old beat up car. She had trouble holding down a job and one of Rocco’s biggest scars from the past were those hunger pains.
At the time, he couldn’t understand the wild mood swings his mother would have. Some days, some moments even, she was relaxed and dreamy, speaking excitedly of all these plans, and other days she’d fly into rages and become a terror to be around. On those days Rocco was almost happy to stay with the random people she’d leave him with sometimes.
Eventually as Rocco got older and turned to the environment he was growing in, he began to find some trouble of his own. He trailed a rowdy group of boys and went through some hard lessons about life and survival.
Despite those friend’s talk of how pointless school was, Rocco attended more than they did. For him, it offered and escape from the roughness of life on the street. In many ways it gave him hope, took him back to the days his mother would go on about how he was going to make millions playing in the NFL one day. Rocco did try out for football, and even played some, but unable to afford necessary equipment and refusing to steal for it that dream painfully went up in smoke.
The call of the wild became stronger and stronger, and some things were insurmountable, so Rocco eventually just gave in. His mother was scarcely around, disappearing sometimes for months only to return with a new lease on life, then eventually fall back into her ways. It was a vicious cycle that was too hard for Rocco to watch.
Several times the state had attempted to get involved and the last time he saw his mother they were successful in pulling him away. The first few months of separation Rocco spent his time in a group home. He was forced to attend school regularly and kept hearing about family. They were people he never met but they were wanting to take him in. His grandparents from Coyote Valley were the parents of the father he never knew.
It took some time for his anger to subside when he first moved in with the estranged extended family. Rocco couldn’t set aside the betrayal he felt that he had family out there that could have stepped in. Could have saved him and his mother from so much struggle.
Though, he was soon to learn that his father had actually been in the military and had passed away while overseas. Rocco was also told that his mother was sick but no one would tell him what was ailing her. Just that she was getting treatment and he wasn’t likely to see her for a while. He would later on find out that she struggled with addiction and had become suicidal when she had contracted an incurable disease from sharing needles.
Life had taken Rocco to behavioral camps and survival camps. It was a blessing in disguise because not only had he begun to find some peace, he found a passion. After some hard work he was able to earn his diploma and he put off college to head into the Marine Corps in a way to honor the man who gave him life and he never really got to know.
The military was tough for a young man with a bold and unbreakable spirit. His defiance and his reactionary responses brought him a lot of trouble at the start, but Rocco eventually found his way. He even began to use us GI Bill to take college courses and was able to earn a degree not long after his honorable discharge.
The first thing Rocco did was apply to be a ranger, knowing that he wanted employment that took him outdoors and among landscapes that had initially led him to find peace.
The life he’d managed to carve out for himself has become something he wouldn’t trade for the world, and he’d say his mother was right: he was destined for a good life. The only thing to complete it would be tracking down the siblings that filter through memories once in a while.

❛ ⸻ THE STORY .
trigger warnings:
tallulah " tallie " roswell grew up with dirt under her nails and fire in her gut, the kind of kid who ran barefoot through the backwoods of lubbock, texas, with a scraped-up knee and a band-aid kit in her back pocket like it was gospel. she was the daughter of a steelworker and a baptist choir teacher — two people who knew the value of a hard day’s work, the power of a good hymn, and the danger of getting above your raisin’.
her parents never meant for her to go into medicine. in fact, they thought it was just another passing phase when she asked for that little red plastic doctor’s kit for christmas one year. they didn’t realize how serious she was about it — how she practiced stitching up her dolls with fishing line, how she lined her stuffed animals on the porch and performed checkups with the solemnity of an actual country doctor.
they'd chuckle when she’d diagnose the dog with “ tummy ache syndrome ” or run down the symptoms of the common cold at the dinner table like she was on a live broadcast. “ you’re too tender for all that blood and mess, ” her daddy would say, shaking his head with calloused hands and a smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes. her mama, in her sunday best, would gently remind her that women like them weren’t often handed keys to operating rooms — not without a fight that left bruises.
but what they didn't know was that tallie had already been learning to patch people up long before she could spell triage. she saw what grit looked like up close — in busted knuckles, bruised egos, and voices hoarse from choir rehearsal and factory floors. she saw her daddy’s bad back and her mama’s bleeding fingers from sewing up dresses and suppers alike. and when someone in the neighborhood got hurt, it was tallie who came running — peroxide in one hand, duct tape in the other, fierce and feral and full of purpose.
by the time they realized medicine wasn’t a phase, it was already a calling. and tallie? she never looked back. she carried that little plastic stethoscope like it was sacred — the first badge of who she’d become. and in every er and trauma ward she ever set foot in, she still carried a piece of that barefoot texas girl with her, the one who knew from a young age that patching people up wasn’t just about fixing bones — it was about reminding folks they were still worth saving.
sharp-witted, unsentimental, and fiercely loyal, she’s made a career out of staying calm while everything around her burns. but lately? she’s tired of just surviving. and after a public fallout with her former hospital administration in houston — where she spoke up one too many times and refused to back down — she was quietly transferred to sierra nevada memorial in coyote valley. a lateral move on paper. a forced exile, really.
she didn’t expect to run into nicolas espinoza, the reckless rodeo champion she once tried to forget. twenty-five years is a long time to carry around someone’s absence. especially when you never got to say goodbye.
now two months into small-town life, tallie’s adjusting. sort of. she keeps her boots by the door and her heart behind lock and key. but coyote valley has a way of softening even the most stubborn souls, doesn't it? maybe she’s not done writing her story yet — maybe it’s just a new chapter.
❛ ⸻ HEADCANONS.
on her days off, you can always find tallie in a pair of sun-faded denim and rolled-up sleeves.
she has a cracked leather medical bag she’s had since residency that she just cannot bring herself to let go of.
tallie has lipstick in her scrubs pocket. for emergencies.
at the end of a long day, tallie loves to sit on her porch - light glow at twilight. sometimes, she'll fall asleep on her porch, in her big comfy arm char.
tallie finds a lot of comfort in flickering neon signs in dusty bars.
tallie always starts her day off with black coffee and lemon drops. even if she isn't sick. tallie just loves the taste of lemon anything.
she genuinely tries to put her hair in a nice up-do before leaving the house, but by the end of a 12-hour shift, her hair is always untamed hair, undone.
✧ ⸻ hey, is that ADAM DRIVER i saw going for a walk in SIERRA SPRINGS? no, it’s just CALEB FORRESTER, a THIRTY-EIGHT year old ARCHITECT from SEASIDE, OREGON. HE/HIM identifies as CIS MALE and BI-CURIOUS. they seem +NURTURING and -MELANCHOLIC, always reminding me of sunlight peaking through the cracks, paint-stained fingers, and arms holding on a little too tight in an embrace. they’re most frequently seen at MAIN STREET MARKET going on about A NEW RECIPE HE'S HOPING TO TRY OUT and that’s okay because it’s been their thing for 4 YEARS. you’re going to love them!
⋆˙⟡ BASICS ────
full name: caleb thomas forrester
nicknames: tba
date of birth / zodiac: september 20, 1986 & virgo
hobbies: cooking homemade meals, running ( mostly to chase away his demons ), art - although he finds a bit less joy in it than he did when he was younger - and mainly practices it when he's helping oliver finger paint.
the forrester home was a warm place, loving and welcoming, but built with enough structure to dissuade misbehaving. caleb learned from an early age that being the middle child often meant being overshadowed, trailing in his brother's footsteps and cheering on as his sister shined. he wasn't extraordinary, but he was kind, taking care of his siblings and friends alike, and doing his best not to cause trouble where it wasn't needed.
quieter than most kids his age, he was most often found blending into the background, content with the group of friends he had and a notebook tucked into a pocket. he loved art, loved creating, and although his father would have loved to see him in more athletic pursuits, caleb didn't have much passion for the various sports he did try.
normalcy defined his life, no reckless abandon or misbegotten adventures that others his age took part in. he got good grades, had a high school sweetheart that feel apart as they struggled with long distance after going to college, got his bachelor degree in architecture and went on to do grad school to complete his training.
it was there where he'd argue his life took a turn for the better. he met ava, ambitious and fearless and just as invested in creating a perfect future for herself as he was. it wasn't long before they started dating and configuring a roadmap of their life together - how soon they wanted to move in together, get engaged, get married, buy a house, start a family. with her by his side, caleb felt like the missing puzzle piece had slotted into place and all that was left was to assemble the tapestry of their life together.
their life was ideal until it suddenly wasn't. baby fever hit him for the first time when he became an uncle and although they'd been putting the thought of kids on pause in favor of advancing through their careers, they started trying. the joy that radiated through their household at the first positive pregnancy test was short-lived. the pregnancy harder on their marriage than either of them had expected, especially given the unexpected complications that came along with it for ava. instead of drawings and pencils, his desk became littered with books and pamphlets, trying to find the best way to support his family when he couldn't shoulder ava's burden with anything else. but it mattered little when even the fully trained doctors and nurses couldn't save her, and as one life entered the world, another departed and he was left both a father and a widower.
the weight of guilt and grief threatened to consume him, his son the only thing keeping him from falling into a mindless depression. after weeks spent practically living in the hospital, and then, when oliver was released out of the nicu, in a home that felt like it was haunted by ava's ghost and the dreams they had for their future, he decided to pack up the shambles of his life on the east coast and head west to the town his parents had retired in.
while that first year in coyote canyon was the hardest, the combination of becoming a father, losing his partner, and uprooting the life he'd been building - caleb still struggles daily. the overwhelming responsibility of trying to fill in the role of both parents while still being in mourning hard to manage on the best of days. he's a regular at therapy appointments, channels his pent up energy into runs and exercising, and still wears his wedding ring on his right ring finger. the thought of moving on seems like an impossibility, a betrayal of the love he once had and especially difficult when he now has his son to consider.
his world revolves around oliver and his work; trying to build the best future he can for his son out of the ashes of old dreams and hopes. some might find him quiet and contemplative, but as he's settled into living in coyote canyon he's warmed up to people who bring out a more lighthearted side of him. not someone who jumps into things half-heartedly, he's protective and loving to those he holds dear.
⋆˙⟡ CONNECTIONS ────
best friend: an unexpected friend, someone who clicked instantly and has become an essential part of caleb's life. secrets and hopes are shared between them and caleb views them as a reason why coyote canyon has started feeling more like a home.
gym buddy: someone who frequents the same gym caleb likes to attend or joins him for runs. maybe they've connected on a deeper level after a workout, maybe they check in on each other when one of them misses a session, or maybe they're simply silent companions.
good influence: someone who drags caleb into activities he might shy away from otherwise. he struggles being social and trying new things, and this is someone who's not afraid to pester him until he agrees to go ( and often enough, caleb ends up having a good time in the process. )
neighbor: perhaps they're friendly, each offering up a helping hand when necessary. maybe they're new and only recently acquainted. maybe they've helped babysit when caleb couldn't find a sitter. either way, he's likely done his best to befriend those living nearby.
fellow parents: someone caleb can turn to for advice or merely to vent parenting woes. he's struggling to handle things on his own and although he's read every parenting book and blog he can get his hands on, he's grateful for people who can give a perspective that's personal.
blind date turned good friend: while caleb might have been an awful date, this person was willing to give him a shot as a friend, salvaging an evening that he might've spent time cringing over.
mutual dislike: for some reason, these two have never quite hit it off. maybe one of them made a bad first impression, maybe their personalities clash, whatever the case, caleb has struggled to find a reason to warm up to them.
shared trauma: maybe they've both lost someone important to them, maybe they met at a grief counseling session, or ran into each other on the way in/out of therapy - whatever the case, they understand what the other is trying to overcome in a way that goes deeper than someone who hasn't experienced a similar kind of loss/ trauma. they don't necessarily talk about it, but know that they have someone who can offer a place of comfort and understanding when it's needed.

johanna does more than leave california, she finds herself in an overseas program in saint petersburg to study architecture where along the way she meets recently appointed airline captain maksim. the two are on and off in the years of johanna gaining her degree, not so much mentioning her boyfriend to her parents back home in coyote valley during visits.
fast forward to johanna walking across the stage to get her a degree with a barely showing bump that would grow to become theo. her parents are surprised and arguments are frequent, but johanna stays in russia to start her makeshift family with maksim all while laying the groundwork of her future in design.
theodore maksim petrov is born days into the new year of 1986, named after johanna’s father and predominantly raised by his mother and his grandparents on his father’s side. his parents never marry but seem happy enough to young theo, but then again, it could be said that his father was oftentimes flying planes elsewhere while his mom worked and picked him up from the care of his grandparents most days.
theo was bubbly kid growing up and definitely a momma’s boy due to their closeness and time more spent together than with his father. not to say theo didn’t like his father, but only seeing him three days a week definitely left more to be desired.
up until the age of 7, russia is all of which theo knows with only ever hearing about coyote valley when his mother brings up her own childhood. theo never truly knows what went down between his parents ( as theo grows, he can infer there was another woman … another kid that his father split time between all the while flying across russia just by whisperings of his maternal grandparents ), but next thing he knows he’s tearfully saying goodbye to his father and grandparents and sat next to his mother on the next flight out of saint petersburg to coyote valley
GROWING UP
johanna’s reappearance in coyote valley with a seven year old theo by her side leaves little question to everyone that she had a kid that no one knew about. especially in the way her parents never spoke of theo. theo with the same blinking blue eyes and wave of brown hair as his mother.
there’s an adjustment period as theo settles into life in coyote valley, his charismatic and vibrant self back in russia that earned him many friends became a past version of himself, now more reserved and reticent to those around him. his accent made him the subject of teasing from his classmates, resulting in him turning inward and focusing on academics as a result. at least, until his mother pushed him to be social and make more friends by signing him up for the local boys soccer league
for a while it was just theo and his mother living in an apartment downtown. then the occasional night of his mother dropping him off at his grandparent’s house for what theo would come to learn as his mother putting herself out there and dating again. theo’s feelings are uncertain, but he finds solace in calling up his grandparents back in russia and talking to them in russian
while he bobbed in between keeping up his grades and taking part in the local boys soccer league, theo would excel in both his academics and his athletic career throughout high school. though him falling the wrong way during an away game caused a dislocated knee and put an end to any further competitive soccer
it was through this that when theo had extra time to devote to whatever else now that soccer practice and games were out of the picture, he began to pick up more books that he could read for fun. it was an accident, really, when he picked up his grandfather's historical non-fiction book about the titanic that sparked theo's interest in learning more about different historical events that interested him
while theo always knew that he wanted to pursue an education degree from his knack for tutoring his fellow classmates, this cemented his desire to teach history specifically. following the tenacity of his mother, theo applied to duke university all the way over on the east coast, to which he gained acceptance and would continue on to double major in education and history
it’s in his final year of college gaining his master's degree that theo manages to get the historical non-fiction book he spent his college years writing ( the devil in the white city by erik larson ) published where it would go on to steadily grow him a fanbase before randomly gaining popularity and sales two years after publication. from there he would secure a 4 book deal with penguin random house
RECENT YEARS TO NOW
after graduation, theo stays in north carolina to begin his teaching career while also beginning to write his second novel ( thunderstruck by erik larson ). he stays in north carolina until he’s 26 and hears news that his mother had gotten into a car accident. with a long road of recovery ahead, theo moves back to coyote valley to help his grandparents take care of his mother. he’s in town for nearly three years ( much longer than he planned ) when he eventually takes an open teaching position in san diego once his mother is fully healed
during those three years theo accidentally fell into a super serious relationship that reminded him a lot of the stories his mother told him of the first few months together with his father. serious enough where it led to an unfulfilled engagement and empty promises. and tbh, it was mainly a fear that he was moving too fast and getting too serious into this relationship that he took the job in san diego and moved. so rip to that ex bc now i imagine things are awkward with him now back in town again
despite the income of being a teacher and the earnings from his now three successful books, theo wanted to slow down from city life after four and a half years of being in san diego and was able to buy himself a cozy house in sierra springs as he begins to write his fourth book ( the splendid and the vile by erik larson ).
he now teaches history at the local high school, trying his best to impress his students with his enthusiasm for all aspects of history ( he teaches both american and world history ) and getting them to appreciate it. there’s humor somewhere with his still present russian accent that his students find funny as he teaches them american history, but as long as they pay attention is what he tells himself
PERSONALITY
overall, theo is someone who’s very charismatic and extroverted, thrives best when he’s around other people and socializing. he views knowledge as something ever growing and attainable, often encouraging not only his students but his friends to pick up a book or watch a documentary on something they’ve never knew about before. he values the relationships of those close to him, though true vulnerability and being seen fully as who he is is something that terrifies him. as a result, he dodges around fully talking about his feelings or how he’s doing since talking about himself for long makes him uncomfortable. it’s something he’s working on with a therapist but it’s still a work in progress.
it’s also part of the reason he and his most serious ex broke up … that and theo ran off to san diego with his tail between his legs. theo loves baking, going for morning runs or daily yoga classes, and stopping by the local coffee shop to either read or work on the latest draft of his new book he's writing. traveling is a top priority for him, though any travel whether it be work related for book tours or conferences is usually confined to the summer time, as not to take off too much time during the school year. being a teacher, theo can be anyone’s biggest supporter in getting them to believe fully in their own potential and achieving their goals.
