Following up on their previous gig in the state of Arizona (another memorable one, at the Silver Dollar Club in Phoenix on September 9, 1991), this recording here documents a most suitable sequel and addition to the Series.
By way of introduction, Ian offers some unadulterated praise for the (now defunct) Downtown Performance Center, and puts a âcrazy punk rockerâ on notice right off the bat, with a promise to give him his money back and to throw him out if he fucks with him too much.
And so it goes, the stage is set, the pawns are in place, and what ensues is nothing short of a highly enjoyable, flawless performance that draws from most available material at the time as well as from the upcoming In on the Kill Taker album (released some two months later).Â
Enjoy numerous straight-up bangers, some funny banter (Guy discloses what âjailinâ is all about) and the unfolding of a fated altercation.Â

âAnother entry from the band's action-packed 1993 tour. We have a really nice, powerful tape here recorded in Tucson, Arizona, during the spring leg of the trek.
I immediately get the sense of an intimate setting from the recording, which is surprising since the turnout seems to have been over a thousand. The mix is warm and wide, with everything clear and audible. The added reverbs etc. are not overused, but add some nice spice and air. The vocals are a bit low sometimes, but always audible, and this in turn gives more space for the instruments to shine.
The band starts off with Joe #1, which is always a badass way to open a show. And with Exit Only added to the flow I could not complain even if I tried. The band is in tip-top shape, and the occasional rants about turning the AC off are just a fun addition. Guy even states "the hotter it gets, the harder we will rock", which I very much believe to be true.
There's a "crazy punk rocker" that disturbs the show, specifically Ian, and gets thrown out eventually. Some other person keeps yelling for Long Division, and after he gets what he wants, he quite amusingly starts yelling for "Mustang Sally". Luckily to no avail.
As for my highlights, the said performance of Long Division is nothing short of amazing, and the drum performance here shines especially bright. Another highlight comes right after that in the form of an inspired Runaway Return.
Sweet And Low unfortunately cuts off about halfway through. Otherwise this is a great sounding recording of a powerful performance that I can wholeheartedly recommend!â
