We finally move into our own place together, it’s not much but it’s enough. I decorate the whole home and I organize everything. I fix my altar up in the living room, I go all out with decorating it because it's my home and I'm allowed to. I no longer have to hide my altar or my religion. The whole time excited that I’m decorating my own home. I have pretty vases and flowers, pretty curtains, and lovely furniture. Seeing his belongings, my belongings and my son’s belongings all under one household makes it surreal.
We sleep in the same queen-sized bed together, the bed is comfortable and the pillows are plush. I have my book collection on display, adding books whenever I can. I enter the bathroom and he’s already in there trimming his beard. He turns toward me and asks me, “Can you trim my beard?” I always say yes. I light the candles around the bathtub, I fill the tub with bubbles. He joins me in the bathtub because we love being close to one another.
He holds, plays, and loves my son. I get to witness the beautiful process of them developing a relationship. We order food through doordash, a consistent thing we do, we all eat around the television. The next morning, he wakes up at 4 am like he always does for work. He’ll make love to me before he goes and when he returns home.
