For my next victim I chose a game that was saved on my wishlist for quite some time but I never craved to play ot that much. That's before I saw some edit on TikTok. Of a character I basically fell in love with lol. Without further ado I present you CounterSide.
While the Administration Failure led to Corrupted Objects threatening the very existence of humanity, A chosen few known as the Counters fight against these Corrupted Objects to drive them back to the void. Now, the ceased clock starts to tick once more.

While I'm just at the beginning, having finished first act of the story and so can't say much about the plot, I'm quite curious how things will turn out. The Player as a character in the story is certainly interesting and gives me vibes of a silent schemer. The pacing in the first act also didn't seem bad though I could be more invested in the story.
On the other side, while I didn't get to know many characters yet I must say I quite like them. The cast seems to be quite colorful in terms of personality and Joo Shiyoon grabbed my heart from the moment I saw him on TikTok. There's just something to this fox-eyed boy. The designs and artstyle are also both really nice. I like how many of the characters look, especially Shena with her cool violin weapon. The designs are quite simple but they give just enough personality to the characters which I appreciate.
I must say the gameplay while not something I would usually go for, is quite enjoyable though I have hard time keeping up with everything that happens on the screen. Menu was also at first a bit confusing for me but I'm getting better at understanding where everything is. On the other side, I basically had no problem with the system of character building. It's quite clear and not complicated.
Can't forget about the gacha system in CounterSide, as for many it would be the most important part. Maybe it's usual in the beginning or I started the game at a good time but it gave me quite a lot free rolls which allowed me to get a full team of SSR characters (+ Joo Shiyoon) from the start. And while of course it has money grabbing methods it looks like it may be f2p friendly? I don't want to judge yet since I had not much experience with the recruit system in CounterSide.
All in all, I got hooked and CounterSide will stay on my phone for some time. And I will work on getting Joo Shiyoon loyalty to 100 and becoming life time partners. Seo out!
