Schumacher’s victory in the 1998 Hungarian Grand Prix is regularly rated as one of his best races (Formula1.com, gpfans.com, planetf1.com, wtf1.com). It also featured an unexpected three stop strategy from Ferrari, which hoodwinked McLaren. Whilst McLaren lost the race due to a number of factors, it was only through strategy that Ferrari had any real opportunity to fight for victory. Let’s see…
