75 Gaming asks
From http://corvosblink.tumblr.com/post/136954217573/75-gaming-asks
1. First console youâve ever owned?: The first one I ever owned technically was the original NES. But I used to play my dadâs Odyssey 2 before getting it. (Iâm old, okay?)
2. First game you played?: On the Odyssey I canât remember, I was like 5 at the time. On the NES it was Mario 3.
3. Favorite childhood game?: EARTHBOUND. Even now I love that game to bits, but when it came out I was obsessed with it. I played it for hours and hours and to this day can recite dialogue from memory.
4. Longest consecutive hours youâve played a game?: Ten? Eleven? Not sure.
5. Game with the best soundtrack?: Morrowind. That music gets me every time I hear it.
6. An underrated game from within the last few years?: I dunno?
7. Most disappointing game youâve played?: Sims Freeplay. Very boring, and too hard to get money.
8. The game with the best atmosphere/scenery?: Skyrim is beautiful, but even old games had places Iâd like to visit. If youâre talking strictly realisim/high-graphics, Iâll stick with Skyrim. But if I could chose anywhere regardless of graphics, Iâd chill in the pre-Ganondorf Hyrule from Ocarina of Time.
9. Last game you played?: Sims 4
10. Prefer PC or console?: Either one, depending on what game Iâm playing.
11. Have you written any fanfic or made any fanart?: Piles. Mostly Elder Scrolls, but Iâve been scribbling Mario and Sonic since I was 7 or so.
12. Most bizarre game youâve ever played?: StarTropics on the old NES. It was confusing and aggravating and nothing made sense, but I was hitting monkeys with a yo-yo. Also Earthbound is extremely bizarre (giant talking piles of puke, robots eating bologna, the whole Happy-Happy thing), but in a lovable way.
13. Scariest game youâve played?: Any of the Resident Evils. They were too scary for me to finish, though I did have fun trying to fill Leonâs backpack with eggs.
14. Do you watch playthroughs online?: No, I find them annoying.
15. Favorite animal in a video game?: If a game has a dog in it, Iâm sold.
16. The best year in gaming youâve experienced?: No idea.
17. Have a video game themed background or lockscreen?: Not at the moment, technically (itâs Sailor Moon Drops), but I change it often.
18. Worst game youâve played?: I canât remember the name, but some dumb fishing game on the SNES my dad bought for himself but never played. It took hours to catch a fish and when you did the game was all âYou caught a 1-pound fish! New record!â Thanks, sarcastic fish game.
19. Hardest game youâve ever played?: This tank game (again, SNES, again, dadâs), where my brother and I could never figure out where we were supposed to be going and would always get killed by a helicopter in about two minutes.
20. Favorite publisher and/or developer?: Right now, Bethesda.
21. If you had to play one game for the rest of your life, what would it be?: It sounds lame, but the Sims. I love building houses and creating my favorite characters to live in them.
22. If you could turn one game into movie, which would it be?: Morrowind. Main quest only, obviously, but I think it would be wonderful and beautiful.
23. Favorite genre of video game?: Sandbox games. I love to wander and play and BUILD.
24. Ever cried because of a video game? Which one(s)?: Uhh... Morrowind, when I heard Azuraâs parting words. Oblivion, when Martin died. Fallout 4, when it ended and I heard the final speech. Probably more.
25. Proudest accomplishment in gaming?: Building a mountain in Sims 2 with a toilet on top. Positioning the stairs and leveling the land properly in order to do it was a bitch. Iâm not kidding.
26. How often do you play online? Co-op?: Never. If I get TES Online I might try, but I like playing alone.
27. Have you gotten any friends into gaming?: Not that I know of. Certain games, yes, but they were already gamers to begin with.
28. Who got YOU into gaming?: My uncle, who let me watch when he played NES and would play Paperboy the âwrongâ way to make me laugh (I was 3 or 4 at the time), prompting me to start begging for an NES of my own, though it took a few years to convince my parents.
29. Watch cutscenes or skip them?: Iâll watch them, but if I keep failing a level/mission and have to watch the same cutscene several times an hour Iâll skip it.
30. On average, how long does it take you in the character creation screen?: 20-30 minutes, or 60 if I have to rage about the lack of options that I need to make my character perfect.
31. Game with the best theme song?: MORROWIND. Sends chills up my spine.
32. Do you cosplay?: No. Too ugly/poor.
33. Favorite female npc?: Shaundi from Saints Row. She is a badass and I love her.
34. Favorite male npc?: Vorstag from Skyrim, of course! He is sweet and adorable.
35. Best protagonist?: Not sure.
36. Best antagonist?: The Think Tank in Fallout: New Vegas. I dare you to find better floating brains.
37. Ever been made fun of for playing video games?: Nope.
38. Have you tried a game, hated it, then tried again, and loved it?: Nope.
39. Do you play for achievements/trophies?: Nope.
40. Favorite voice actor?: Robin Atkin Downes. His voice as the Boss in Saints Row gives me life. (His appearance as Coulter in Fallout 4 was a welcome surprise, too.)
41. Gone to a midnight release before?: Nope.
42. A game you will never forget (in a bad OR good way)?: Any of the ones mentioned above.
43. Favorite sidekick or companion?: Vorstag and Paladin Danse.
44. Do graphics matter?: Nope. Some of the best games Iâve played have older/not great graphics.
45. Do you like funny or more serious games?: Both, actually.
46. Always, sometimes, or never use subtitles?: Always.
47. First person or Third person?: It depends on the game. In the Elder Scrolls itâs always third-person, but in Fallout itâs always first-person because Iâm shit at shooting in first person but even worse in third.
48. A game youâve always wanted to play but have never gotten to it?: The Wolf Among Us. Bigbyâs face sits on my desktop, waiting for me to play.
49. A game you havenât played in forever, but want to replay?: Paperboy 2.
50. How many games to do you own?: Not sure.
51. First character youâve had a crush on?: None.
52. A game you will always stand behind, and support no matter what?: Earthbound.
53. Your most immersive game?: Skyrim.
54. A sequel you really want?: Elder Scrolls VI, Saints Row V, or Fallout 5.
55. How much time, on average, do you play in a week?: uh... 30+?
56. Do you tell people irl that you play video games?: Yes.
57. What is an overrated game youâve played?: Pokemon. Itâs cute and I liked it, but the hype confuses me.
58. Ever have someone walk in on a sex scene between you and you LI?: What?
59. A game you are looking forward to this year?: None so far.
60. The game you are best at?: I was pretty good at Soul Calibur 2.
61. A game you know everything about?: EARTHBOUND. I love that game so much, I know everything.
62. Would you want to work with video games when you are older?: No. Playing is fun, making not so much.
63. Whatâs a game that has inspired you?: Any of the Elder Scrolls.
64. Describe your favorite video game using only three words?: Medieval, swords, magic.
65. Any favorite screenshots of games?: I try to take screenshots of goofy expressions, Easter Eggs, or whenever a character says something I find funny.
66. Game with the yummiest looking food?: Paper Mario.
67. Most violent game youâve played?: Mortal Kombat on the âhighâ blood setting.
68. An older game that youâve just recently gotten into?: Pokemon Go.
69. Your first LI?: What is this âLIâ?????
70. Do you play any mobile games?: Yes. I love Sailor Moon Drops, Fallout Shelter, Draw Something, Tiny Tower, and Kleptocats.
71. A game you canât stop talking/thinking about at the moment?: None.
72. Have any guilty pleasure games?: Nope.
73. A game with the best fandom?: Saints Row. Everyone is so friendly and considerate!
74. Which game has the best lore?: The Elder Scrolls. I could read the lore for days.
75. Do you focus on main storyline/quest or do sidequests first?: On my first playthrough of a game I kind of do everything whenever, so I roam around doing side quests just in case they might be important to the main. On a second playthrough, I know whatâs going on and usually do the main quest, followed by any DLC quests in order.
