I've been trying to read through the posts and replies and comments trying to see what all of those people were even mad about and I continue to be baffled by the kinds of things some people will choose to whip up and overstate in order to have something to argue over. I don't even think those people were even interested in actually talking about whether or not what you said was "wrong" or whether or not they disagreed with it, so much as they just didn't like it and decided to turn it into giant argument over who is baselessly attacking who. Like they're just proving the initial point of the original post from teaboot. These people spend so much time and energy being belligerent and argumentative over??? Over rude language? Seeing someone express frustration in a way that they don't agree with? And then getting mad when the person they're actively mocking responds in the way you'd expect someone to??? I would say something about how they need to find something better to do with their time, but I get the feeling that this kind of directionless anger is being used to mask some deeper personal issues and feelings that would be better served being directed at someone who is actually in power lmao
yeah, that's the vibe I got too.
the be vulnerable, it's really hard for me to not keep going when people keep poking and prodding, especially in areas I am sensitive and passionate about. I have been targeted and harassed a lot my entire life for unchangeable aspects of who and what I am and these sorts of things are something I am very sensitive to.
I know I should disengage more, and I acknowledge that I'm responsible for some of the escalation, sure. but at the end of the day this is such a wild escalation and we are so far removed from my original point and I can't help but feel like it's on purpose, you know?
