He was literally the only thing that kept her in the mafia. She had a chance to get out: to be free, to be her own person, to be with someone she cared for deeply....but she cared for Chuuya, too. She wouldn’t lie to herself, staying in the mafia was the single most stupid thing she’d ever chosen to do.

But she did it for him, and so far it hasn’t been for nothing.

So seeing him sitting down on the couch lifts her spirits just a bit, and the way she floats over behind him to yoink his hat and put it on her own head with a smile shows just that. And mmaayybbbeee the peck to his cheek she stole showed that, too.

“Chuuuu baby~”

And of course that makes him giggle too. It’s adorable how this small man keeps complaining and acting like he’s annoyed, yet still he doesn’t reject him, still leans into him and makes him dinner, like if he was his wife instead -- and at that sudden thought, Dazai can’t help but gasp out loud.

“Chuuya,” Dazai complained as they walked down through the darkened city streets. “Can’t we blow off this assignment and go do something else? This is the third night in a row we’ve had to work. We’re being abused.”
