Corrupts are the people of Kalavaria who have been physically changed by the magic inside them, corrupting them both inside and out. They are often characterized to have black skin and an “insane look to their eyes,” and often no longer act like their former selves with reported examples of memory loss and personality dissociation with said former self. When one is dubbed a Corrupt, they are no longer considered to be part of their respective race as they have physically changed to the point where they no longer are able to change back. This change can occur naturally when enough negative emotions or desires brew within a person (commonly one of the Seven Deadly Sins) to the point where their conscious will seek physical magic or outside energy to satisfy their desire(s). The process of becoming Corrupt is a slow one and at early stages can be prevented. However, another way for someone to transform into a Corrupt is by an existing Corrupt influencing and basically brainwashing a non-Corrupt with their corrupted magic. This is done by the Corrupt offering a desire to the non-Corrupt in exchange for their obedience. This process is a much faster transformation and, although the conversion time varies, is often known to happen in mere seconds and was often used after The Thievery by strong Corrupts to gain control of another person to ultimately make them serve their needs. However, there is a catch to this method. The existing Corrupt will have to gain control of the non-Corrupt and share their corrupting magic by placing their magic into a physical item of the non-Corrupts, preferably a valued item of theirs. Control can lessen if the item is too far away from the victim, and if the item were to be destroyed, the Corrupt will lose their control on them.

Corrupt!Fiona is rather a special case amongst Corrupts; although she is considered a Corrupt as splotches of her arm, her hair, and her wings are pitch-black, only one of her eyes turned black while the other is still an emeral-green. Furthermore, there was no valued item that “Her Master” could cast her spell to fully gain control on. In addition to this, her conversion was not one of full consent, so if deeply provoked, she will have relapses of control of her corrupted magic. In general, she often goes on reckless adventures to satisfy her desire for a thrill, not caring about her safety, and most times, not of others either.

*Isabelle’s story of Corruption to be added

Corrupt!Isabelle would sacrifice her free will as well as her identity as a Potestas wizard in order to gain limitless magic in order to find her missing mother, who she’s been convinced is not dead. Her once-blue eyes would be a charcoal-black and the entirety of her left arm would be ash-black, which is why she will often wear one-sleeved clothing and gloves to hide it. Half her face and her entire torso will turn black, however, if she uses her corrupt magic. Her staff would be the possessed item, specifically the blue orb that hovers in the middle of it, which has turned a navy-blue due to the corrupt magic. Though she is much colder than her non-Corrupt self, she still has a sense of morality that, if possible, she would like to keep. However, if something immoral benefits her studies or if “Her Master” commands something unethical, she will do whatever they ask, no matter what it is. That is what she sacrificed, after all.

*Neville’s story of Corruption to be added

Corrupt!Neville would sacrifice his emotions for the ability to endlessly store and retain knowledge as a way to fulfill his desire to stop being a failure. His blond hair and golden eyes have turned ash-black and the entirety of both of his hands have turned black, which he hides by wearing gloves. He looks through the entire world through logic and without a thought to morals or ethics. He will often steal parts or materials he needs with the justification being “that his work will further benefit all than the individual parts being used separately.” The item that would be corrupted would be his glasses, as they were a gift from his father before he disappeared, though he no longer feels any emotions when he thinks about his and his mother’s disappearance.
