it’d been years ... which explained exactly, or perhaps still very little, how they’d gotten here. her last session had left the synth in a blonde wig, braided loosely and lazily like the regular liked, dressed in a housewife outfit that screamed midlife crisis at its finest. a scenario evelyn didn’t comprehend fully, she’d never be a housewife. never have a kid that’d be pestering her all day and night. she’d try to get into that fantasy as much she could, but by the end of the session, nothing of that mindset remained. it disappeared like snow greeting the sun, preparing for the next session already. which turned out to be not so much of a session at all. her mood shifted instantly at the sight of marc, like a weight lifted off her shoulders as she stepped aside, making way for the man to enter, shutting the door behind him. a short silence fell after she’d welcomed him with merely a glance, needing another moment before turning around to face marc. resting a whole different kind of weight upon his shoulders than she’d ever done, ‘’... have you ever loved someone?’’
