You may think upon first glance that this is an ordinary stool but it is anything but ordinary!!! In fact it is extraordinary!!! This is an Elizabeth ll limed oak coronation stool with a blue velvet seat and chamfered legs. Made for the coronation of Elizabeth ll which took place on June 2nd. 1953 at Westminster Abbey in London. Elizabeth was 25 years old when she was crowned Queen. The invited guests were offered the opportunity to purchase their stools after the event and this is one of them!!! I am so thrilled to own this piece of history!!! I bid for this the other day @tooveysauctions and was so excited to be the one to get it!!! I have bought many treasures over the years here and enjoy wandering around and seeing everything.
