#coroika splatoon

Something I think is a little funny is that coroika ages is always such a huge controversy thing in the fandom when it really doesn’t need to be…and on top of that it’s always for the wrong reasons like I ALWAYS hear that everyone except EMP is like 14-17 and never ages. And everyone polices rlly hard on what people do with every character but him and his teammates (excluding Prince of course) and like. I BEG. The coroika fandom to watch the official dvd thing PLEASE. It kinda makes a point to have rider and since we hear aloha and army im just going to assume the rest of the s4 as well are probably. Adults 😭😭😭 and if them and their teammates sound that grown im gonna assume the same for the rest of the cast that happens to be “omg this player is super duper experienced!” rider genuinely sounds 40 😭😭I’m sure characters like gloves and Hachi and probably Prince would be canonically around the same age as team blue if I were to try and make an educated guess!

I don’t think I worded this exactly how I wanted and I have more to say but ultimately I think people need to think more before they attack people in the coroika fandom bc 9 times out of 10 it’s just loud and wrong. The canon dub gives a lot of insight to character age ranges (more specifically just. Teen or adult) and while I acknowledge the dub idrc what people hc the ages as if they’re not being weird! The dub gives some useful insight but tbh idrc if people just flat out ignore it and make them younger (i do this too) or older just don’t harass people or point fingers bc im sorry I think people are lowkey justified either way….no confirmed ages….the dub makes the first couple rivals sound like adults….all adults in Splatoon lowkey just look like that….DUDE IVE seen so many people be like “they don’t look like adults!” NO SPLATOON CHARACTER DOES IM 😭😭😭 every coroika character looks older than pearl houzuki and she’s abt to be 30 don’t play with me rn 😭

Like bruh the dub is old so like it’s okay to ignore it I think but also people have a canon basis for at least believing some of the rivals are older? Like some of those ppl who get on everyone for being weird abt minor characters probably ship the more popular ships? So like for example gorai. And it’s like okay well if u wanna be like that go watch the dub and tell me rider is the same age as him you genuinely cannot😭😭😭

I truly CANNOT articulate how I wanna talk about this bc i acknowledge the dub and all the stuff in the books that could point toward any ages and it’s like part of the foundation of my headcanons (but not quite I don’t think they match up but they don’t interfere either) I wouldn’t ever police someone for ages bc at the end of the day esp for coroika it just doesn’t matter and idc what people do with the characters as long as ur not like im they’re 2 and I’m gonna draw weird stuff or if ur like this is my age hc and I’m gonna be mean abt it….like i intentionally made them all closer in age bc that just makes sense to me

LIKE OKAY U DONT HAVE TO FOLLOW WHAT THE DUB IS IMPLYING BUT IF UR GONNA POLICE PEOPLE AT LEAST ACKNOWLEDGE IT FROM A CANONICAL POINT
