The storm was getting bad... Progressively worse, in fact. Nikandros looked from inside the restaurant and wondered if heâd be able to leave anytime soon, he wanted to go home, to get back to his dorm, put on some music, and pretend none of this was happening. This weather gave him a bad feeling, and he could feel the hysteria as it quietly grew in the air about him. A ripple of pain jettisoned up from his abdomen and Nikandros could not help but wince, another surge from his thigh, another from his arm, a final rush from his back and the sphinx collapsed to the ground - when he looked up, there was his mother, though her expression lacked the warmth that his memory afforded him. Her eyes were cruel, and the shrillness of the voice that fell from her lips was not one that he knew, and yet, one that Nikandros had always feared. He closed his eyes against his as his stomach rippled with pain again, when he opened them she was gone but someone stood over me, they were speaking, but Nik hadnât made out what they said. âIâm- Iâm okay, just afraid of thunder.âÂ
