Dog baths: a saga. Bath two: Murphy Part 2: in which Murphy executes his big plans for revenge. After writhing on the deck for awhile, Murphy decided he’d had it with being clean (it had been a whole 3 minutes.) So he sped past us (we both grabbed at him and missed.) He sprinted on and off the deck a few times, grinning, just out of reach. Then went to writhe in the grass and dust and enjoyed being chased around the yard. Lillie made her escape attempt, and while we focused on her, Murphy got into the garden. He turned that dirt into mud, crushed some plants, and turned himself into a mud ball. More chasing around the yard ensued - to his delight. When we finally got him, he got bath 🧼 # 2 and was promptly put in the house so he couldn’t get dirty again. He still isn’t acknowledging us, he’s so furious. Dog baths: a saga 🧼 Bath two: Murphy Part 1: in which it goes exactly as well as you’d think it would 🙄 Unlike Lillie, Murphy is a water dog. He goes for the water, any water, that he can find at any time. He loves his pool. He did not appreciate us turning his pool into a bathtub 🛁 He became peeved at us as soon as the shampoo came out. Like Lillie, Murphy prefers to be as filthy and stinky as possible. So getting clean is not his jam. There were many escape attempts, water e v e r y w h e r e, and the nastiest looks you can imagine. We tried to dry him off, but he preferred doing it himself by writhing on a towel laid out on the deck which was very cute. All seemed well.
