Core systems
Core systems are Belfast based company that deliver interactive offender technology solutions for use in prisons and in the community. They work mainly on software, sometimes hardware, to help improve the accessibility and overall wellbeing of prisoners, their families and the staff. For the prisoners its all about rehabilitation, communication and preparation for life outside of prison. For the staff it benefits them by making some aspects of their job slightly easier. Â
I was shocked to find out that inmates have an educational mindset of a 8 year old, so Core have to design the usability to meet the use of a 8 year old essentially.
The overall idea and experience of this possible placement opportunity really interests me. Its a very different path to usual placements while still using ui/ux design. I believe that if/whoever gets a placement here will learn ALOT and gain various skills.

The Mila team has been growing rapidly recently. There are 3 more people coming to Zurich over next few months. Since it's so hard to find an apartment in Zurich we decided to see how easy it is to setup an office in Gdansk. I think it went pretty well.
