Familiar faces || Jewel & Copy
sinnamon-with-a-ctrl-c:
>Main Street and, uh, hang on.
Copy has to actually get up and walk to the next street like she’s some kind of cripple, how embarrassing.
>Main and Harvard. There’s some tables in front of an abandoned Starbucks, I’ll be there.
Some time in the city actually sounded kind of nice, the DLN thought to himself.
The weather was starting to get cooler, and though the robot himself didn't need to dress warmly, Jewel rather enjoyed dressing up for the season. Winter fashion was his favorite when he wasn't in his armor, after all. There was just something so classy about heavy clothes and patterned scarves.
Jewel Man arrived soon enough, dressed to the nines in a thick winter coat, his eyes scanning the area where the Copy had promised they'd be waiting. He nearly froze in place when he spotted her, Roll, just like they'd said. What kind of a trick was this?
Jewel's lips pursed thoughtfully as he approached. Purple, red and green… how tacky. He couldn't help but scrutinize her wardrobe a little after how prickly she'd been to him.
“There you are,” Jewel announced with a sigh. It was much harder to be upset at someone who looked like Roll in person. “I'm here now. Happy?”
Copy puts on her most scared and pathetic voice for the message. "Big brother? I got lost in the city and I'm all alone and my legs hurt, could you come and pick me up? Pretty pleeaase?" She then promptly makes a gagging motion and slumps on the street corner.
> First of all
Jewel writes back. The nerve of some people!
> Roll doesn’t call me ‘big brother,’ nor does she leave me voicemail.
> Second, she’s lived in Monsteropolis for almost thirty years. I think at this point Monstro DOT asks her for help with mapmaking.
> So unless you’re a time traveller from 199X or I’ve suddenly turned into an old fashioned voice-mail recording machine, you’ve got some explaining to do.
> PS, if Roll did refer to me as her brother, I’d be her little brother.
