The Great 38 Rewatch-- #CopperBullet
Copper Bullet: From Ice Cream to Bananas, Itâs a Wild Ride
In the spirit of honesty, this was not one that I voted for my top five of season seven. Sorry, but I lean towards the earlier part of the season and then the finale. Â However, that doesn't mean I don't understand why it made the list. Â The teamwork in this episode is lovely to see. Â Oh, sure, there was an obvious issue that needed to be resolved between Jane and Lisbon but they were working together and trying to talk to each other so that was a manageable level of angst. Â The rest of the episode was a lot of fun. Â
Jane fighting to keep the Abbotts from being destroyed by his old boss, Peterson, and creating a con to get the damning evidence destroyed. Â
Jane bringing in his old friends Pete and Sam to help with the con
Pete telling Jane it was time to take off the ring and saying what all of us at home had been saying since Red John died
Sam echoing to Jane what Stan and Jimmy had said to Lisbon, "Don't screw this up."
Cho, Lisbon, and Jane working together in ways that harkened back to their CBI days Â
Vega and Wylie both learning to think outside the box and being so comfortable together
Of course, the part of me that watched a lot of years of Law & Order does wonder if they were going to be able to get a conviction against Peterson. Granted, they got him to confess but only after they had illegally searched his home. Â Would a judge ruled that the confession was only the result of the illegal search and therefore everything was inadmissible in court? Â I guess the writers' way of dealing with that was to have Abbott acknowledge that the search issue was for the attorneys to resolve. Â The most important thing was that there was no more evidence to use against his wife. Â
In the end, we know that there's still more to be worked out between Jane and Lisbon and that trouble is brewing. Â Jane is still scared of loving Lisbon and although she's admitted that she loves him, she's afraid of losing her own identity and being left alone. Â Truly, they're both afraid of losing the other but for completely different reasons. Â

In this sometimes very sad and disturbing world we live in today, it's good to find a small amount of time to remember something that gives you joy like family and friends, reading a good book, listening to your favorite music, or yes watching and old episode of The Mentalist. Therefore, I hope you'll do something that brings a smile to your face because the cheapest and best weapons we have against hatred and violence are smiles and hugs. With a virtual smile and hug for you all, tivarocks!
