and when kristen gives her the stuff at school kipperlilly gets super excited until kristen calls it a palentine’s gift and she gets really moody throughout the rest of the day. this upsets kristen and she worries she did something wrong so she asks kipperlilly who admits she hoped it was a romantic gift and that hits kristen over the head like a frying pan because she didn’t even realize that she and kipperlilly could be more than friends. actually holy shit she has been feeling more than that for a while now. so kristen out loud is like wait i’m stupid and kipperlilly is like ?? so kristen kisses her and it’s awkward because it’s kipperlilly’s first kiss but that’s okay because it’s still cute !!

The second that Kipperlilly’s eyes land on Kristen, all of the air is sucked out of the room. Her eyes narrow and her lip curls, creasing the corner of her mouth in disgust. She looks at Kristen like she’s just taken a shit on the shag rug in front of her, pulled her ribbon dancer out of her own ass, and done an interpretive dance (with lots of hip movements) to Trap Queen by Fetty Whap. Kristen puffs her chest out with an indignant huff at the prospect of her ever doing two of those things.

“Miss Copperkettle,” Jawbone says, blissfully oblivious to the energy crackling between the two of them like a live wire attached to two electric eels in a puddle of water. “I was hoping you’d be open to helping ol’ Kristen here out.”

In a matter of seconds, Gorgug’s mouth falls open, Riz’s face goes pale, Fig’s brow furrows in confusion, and Adaine goes statue still. Each of them blink up at Kristen, arranged around Adaine’s bedroom like a makeshift war council, and Kristen stands before them all, digging her fingernails into the skin of her palm and trying not to throw up.

Fabian glances over at her, a tiny, reassuring nod. Kristen nods back, not feeling remotely comforted. There’s a momentary silence as the blast lands. For a second, everyone just looks at each other.
