“   I didn’t mean to start a fire, I was just trying to cook for us. You make it look so easy!”

               "I been meaning to do this for a while.. I, uh, I'm thinking it's about time we go on a date. Wait, no     Will you go out on a date with me?" The boy released a hopeless sigh as his eyes glared at his reflection, this words dancing on his tongue teasingly though refusing to line themselves up properly despite days of practice. Cooper's neck craned at the abrupt noise of the girl behind him. "Oh shit      How long have you been standing there?" 

"We should take a trip some day, y’know, somewhere exotic, and get away from this place and all it’s bullshit. Maybe I’ll even get lucky with some women      You know how I like my foreign ladies.” 

"Right, so I might have stolen your phone earlier and texted that guy you can't stop talking about for ya."

"      " He isn't listening to a word she's saying despite the constant nods and occasional 'Mmm's that emerged from the back of his throat. 

It was early; the sun had just began peaking over the edge from it's cloak. The boy's foot tapped against the tiled floor of the cafe, it's mere boom the only noise around. Phone pressed against Cooper's ear, small sighs fell from his lips in disbelief as his father shared a story far too familiar for his liking. "So what? What are you trying to tell me?" His impatience grew overwhelming as his eyes scanned around the small shop, it's emptiness displaying a much larger appearance, one that crushed him into a lonesome state. "Right. It took you so fu    freaking long to tell me I'm alone this year. For Christmas. Again." Que the miffed foot tapping. "Of course I understand." Eye roll. "Okay, see you then." The girl's frame appeared behind him, seemingly aware of what had taken place, although his thoughts enveloped him into a state of obliviousness.
