so this is the page of the comic that spurred this headcanon

if we consider cookies losing limbs and powder if they’re too rough on themselves as “canon”, they have to have a way to reattach those limbs so they can keep running and whatnot

so consider this!

like how the gems in houseki no kuni have a special glue they use to glue back on limbs, the cookies use icing to hold limbs together.

it’s not an entirely spotless process though. the cookies are left with small “seams” where parts had to be glued back together/on. they can be hidden with powder made of brown sugar tho, but it has to be reapplied like makeup.

an example of a cookie who might have lots of hidden seams is Whipped Cream Cookie. ballet is really hardcore t b h (for example, ballet dancers often find their feet bleeding and cracked from the shoes, and there’s also a type of move that’s like. basically if you do it wrong, you risk breaking your ankles right there. ballet is hardcore) so he defs has seams in his legs and feet,, the show must go on after all!!

also actual scars are probably like. pieces of cookie that the afflicted cookie wasn’t able to find to reattach.

so cookies with visible scars like Dark Choco Cookie and Werewolf Cookie have lost little chunks of themselves.

also, speaking of Dark Choco, i feel like what comes out first instead of jam is just oozing dark magic. going back to the hnk relations, it probably acts like phos’ gold alloy. the magic is too powerful for Dark Choco’s physical form, so it leaves cracks, but the cracks are quickly filled up by dark magic so they can continue exerting themself. it also seems to have a mind of its own whenever it oozes out of injuries,, they can defs use it to their advantage as a last ditch effort.
