Hasan put the open box with duck feeder on the blanket and opened his shopping bag. He'd brought enough food to make at least a certain non-doctor happy, because it was far more than he had on a usual lunch. He smiled back at Roxy. Asking someone out for a picnic - and thus a date - wasn't a regular move for Hasan, but they'd hit it off rather well at New Years, and he didn't mind having her around - which was a big thing to say for him, since he had befriended very few people in Fenrir's Wood.

"Any particular foods that you'd like: I have croissants, pistoletes, beurre, œufs, eau, and that's about where my French ends."

Topher could not believe their luck, watching the sirens on the road and Roxy next to them, having stopped two cars from crashing into each other. And two bikes, and whatever else was still on the road that day. Topher had no idea how she'd managed to stop it, but they were in awe of her. And the remembered her, and right now, as they were both sitting on the sidewalk, covered in blankets, waiting to make a statement, Topher edged a little closer. "It's been long," he said. "But that was so cool."

It was good to be out of the hospital again, though Hasan was still under heavy medication and could feel the ripple of the injury. He'd expected bullet wounds to take longer... longer than a sword wound to the chest. But it hadn't. Or at least, it seemed his body was fighting more than just a cut.

He rubbed a hand to his chest as he sat down at Moonshine, ordering him a drink as a single man, and smiling when the waiter told him that if he kissed someone for New Year's eve, they'd be giving him a free drink. He chuckled at that, but didn't comment further.

"Are you planning on kissing a stranger for a free drink?" he asked the occupant of the other chair near the fire. Moonshine had always been too cozy to be an actual night club, it was at the same time a bar and a pub.

Zhyan was caught by the feeling of something more, of a whole hoard of Spirits, but it was faint and it quickly despaired, still, he had captured the direction, and he edged on to locate it. He wasn't one to walk through the city's centre often, outside of work, he tended to find other places to wallow. He often stayed at home, and especially now he wished to be away from people, but something forced him onward. He didn't know what he was looking for until it stared him right in the face, and even then, he didn't know what it was he wanted from the young woman who stood before him. Zhyan looked at her, in confusion, but in recognition as well, because he didn't know her face, but he knew who she was. Knew what she was. He narrowed his eyes, a question on his lips, but he didn't know what question. "Did you hear the horses?" He asked, not sure where it came from.

Helia rushed towards her, not having noticed the dream or the dreaming, but sensing distress in the hearts of one of the Witches. Though she was not under her care, it was enough to get her going. She rushed towards the young witch, spirits fluttering about her, trying to gain information on how she was doing, trying to make sure Helia knew how she could help. If she could help!

"Roxy?!"

Topher hated the heat of people, the fact that they were eating cake and standing around and talking. The fact that there weren’t more people angry. Okay, maybe there were, but seething, with rage, enough to break glass and porcelain. But instead they simply saw tears, and they moved through the crowds to get away from it. 

Until they almost walked into someone without them. They looked up, frowning, and then blurted. “Sorry for your loss,” hoping to be dismissed.
