The question shocked her – Aerri didn’t expect know why he would bring this question up now. Not when they were in a fight. “I do – but love isn’t enough anymore. Love didn’t keep me warm when you left in LA – Love didn’t matter to you when you were following your dreams. Now, I have a dream too Daniel. And no matter how much I love you, I won’t stop until it’s accomplished. My dream isn’t just for me, but for our daughter as well too. That’s why it’s better we just leave the past in the past. Okay?” Aerri replied, wiping away her tears – Daniel had been her first love and when he left her to pursue his dreams she was heart broken. But she loved him so much all she ever wanted was the best for him. Which was why she never told him about their child – or about her coming to Korea either. After she graduated she came to help her grandparents run their hotel – she started going to college to become a teacher that’s when she saw him by chance.
It was like he fell into the thorn bush, stabbing him all over as he repeated her words over and over in his head. Sure, they were fighting but it was a relevant question. Why were they fighting if they still loved each other? “You really think that didn’t matter when I left?” He asked, the first time he ever took an angry tone with her because it was the opposite from the truth, his heart pounded with anger as he stepped a little closer to her. He could remember telling her grandparents his plan, saving enough money to buy her a house so she could move there with him but he guessed they never told her. Yes, he left to pursue his career but he always had her in his mind. “The least you could do is let me see her. You know I would have come back if I knew. I don’t want her growing up to hate me, thinking that I left her and didn’t love her. If we can’t get back together, at least give me times when I can see her. I am her father, Aerri. A father that will love her and still loves you with all of his heart.”
