ill always be triggered over the fact that “Release the Bats”, is in fact nick cave singing that.
unpopular political opinion under the cut
i dont think gun control would ever really work because if somebody evil wants a gun they will find a way to get one (not a great comparison but cocaine is illegal and plenty of people find a way to have access to it)
gun control would take guns away from people who could potentially protect others from somebody with murderous intentions, not away from those with the murderous intentions
I am against giving *title of controversial movie/book/game/whatever* attention because:
It advertises that thing
Telling people to not do something will make them want to do it anyway, this will support the thing if they pay for it
If I do not care for it, it doesn't deserve any of my attention.
no the point was that its a word and even though it has history it isnt like saying it in context is bad, like the post was saying
I got the impression from that post that it /was/ bad since it says any use of the word from a white person is wrong in that statement right next to the list of examples someone would use the word without thinking the intent is wrong.

by saying nigger you are LITERALLY opressing every black person in the United States at the same time
I didn't say it, but I think it should still exist in reprints of the the books which at this time saw it acceptable to say, which were actually writing accurately to how people speaked back then. It's really tricky to argue this because tbh even with my opinion I don't think I'm entitled to determine something like this, but it's still my personal opinion. I believe that rewriting history is always a bad idea and can lead confusion, misunderstanding, manipulation, or even the repentance of something terrible that has previously occurred.
I really don't think people yelling at everyone to stop eating at Chick-fil-a because it was said that they are against the LGBTQ Community simply because the creator and his family are supporters of the biblically moral version of marriage is going to help anything. Just like vegetarians yelling at KFC and flipping KFC off isn't going to do anything. People are still going to eat there. It's a restaurant, but no one is forcing you to eat there. So just calm down. Besides--Chick-Fil-A released this statement:
"The Chick-fil-A culture and service tradition in our restaurants is to treat every person with honor, dignity and respect –- regardless of their belief, race, creed, sexual orientation or gender. We will continue this tradition in the over 1,600 Restaurants run by independent Owner/Operators. Going forward, our intent is to leave the policy debate over same-sex marriage to the government and political arena. Chick-fil-A is a family-owned and family-led company serving the communities in which it operates. From the day Truett Cathy started the company, he began applying biblically-based principles to managing his business. For example, we believe that closing on Sundays, operating debt-free and devoting a percentage of our profits back to our communities are what make us a stronger company and Chick-fil-A family.
Our mission is simple: to serve great food, provide genuine hospitality and have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A."
Yeah, they stated they were a family-led company and believed in biblically based principles--but none of them that they are applying to their company are specifically against the LGBTQ community. Oh, what does it matter-- I don't eat there just because their food makes me sick. Who really gives a crap. It's food. Christ.
Abortion - I'm not gonna say I'm pro-life or pro-choice, but I like the facts. While I don't like the idea of abortion, it's not because of "GOD SAYS IT'S A SIN" or "IT'S IMMORAL AND MURDER." I do believe it's a medical form of murder, but under certain circumstances, it's okay. But, medically... when someone is in a coma, they judge life by neural activity since the heart is still pumping. The first thing that develops in a zygote is the neural stem and the heart. It's why pregnant women need folic acid because it helps the stem form better. So, before there is even a human shape, there is neural activity. Before then the heart beat... because that's what makes it form... those neural impulses. So, medically... it's murder. But you take people off life support all the time with signed family consent. So, it's the same in a way, but that person on life support had a life and a voice. You're talking about an unborn baby.
Drugs and Alcohol - Drugs are illegal for a reason. Pot is given out medically. You can join the arm but not drink when you're 18 - I think it's time to stop being different and just have an 18 drinking age. Not like anyone isn't already drinking.
Capital Punishment - Eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth.
Euthanasia - Isn't this like taking someone off life support? Why make someone suffer? If they WANT it... then it's not wrong. I mean... it's hard but it's not different than pulling the plug on someone on life support...
Gun Control - It's American to regulate everything. But, I mean, we have the right to bear arms... but I think that there needs to be a bit of regulation. I mean... having a permit to carry a weapon isn't that bad, is it? OH GOD KICK ME OUT OF THE SOUTH NOW CAUSE I THINK THERE SHOULD BE GUN CONTROL. -_-
LGBTQ and Alternative Sexuality - I think this is obvious.
Net Neutrality - I don't... understand... this really LOL
Politics - they're fun... but everyone in Washington only plays party politics and not do what's smart or right... I think that it's time to go back to Monroe-ism and cut off from the outside world. Yeah, it'll mean a depression but it'll be self sufficiency and back BEFORE a "national debt" and ABC programs
Religion - it's a nice thing but it's something that I've learned from experience that can make or break a relationship and a ruin everything
Feminism - Some people are crazy... but I know a civil feminist and she's really all for women but, like, she's doesn't hate men. She's engaged to a great guy... I mean, really. It has a bad rap.
Pornography - What about it? Some people like it. Some people don't. It's not bad. I mean, some people like to get off with it.
Political Correctness/Social Justice - as long as your not saying the n word or calling someone a faggot in a negative way... or whatever. I mean... really why worry about it? I mean, I understand assuming someone who is Asian is "Chinese" or all Hispanics are "Mexican" is never a good thing... but don't worry about calling me "bisexual." Just call me a confused lesbo... I'll laugh it off.
Environmental Issues - Reduce, reuse, recycle.
Policing & Police Brutality - Yeah, well, um... police have no right to beat someone unless they're seriously being threatened... gun, knife... that's what pepper spray is for. But if that doesn't do anything... then you break out the baton and the guns and stun gun
Mental Illness - What's controversial about this?
