08/26/20 Built a tomato teepee out of bamboo poles for a plant support. I’ve been trying to order plant supports all summer, to no avail. Garden supplies are short in this pandemic.

08/17/20 Tomatoes!!!! My first ones!!!!

The NYC tomato plants are doing well in the grow bag with coir. But not any where near as well as their cousin who got sent to the countryside in Virginia for the summer. That Virginia tomato is out-growing by about 20″ so far!

Probs super old-school to the experienced gardeners out there, but this noob just learned about planting contained tomatoes directly into the garden. My mother-in-law wants to pull these patio tomatoes inside when it gets too hot coming late May into Augusy. The solution? Sink the containers for easy access and watering, pull them up and into the house when summer comes.
