“you’re joking, right?” jeonghan has to let go of baekhyun’s hand to cup the other’s cheek instead, forces baekhyun to look at him. “no, spacing out is when i stare at jongup during potions class.” that’s one thing he’s finally admitted, but he wonders if it even registers in his friend’s current state of mind. it’s more an attempt to cultivate some sort of shock factor, if anything. “we’re not watching a damn movie, baek. not when you’re like this. come on.”

his hand moves slowly and gently down baekhyun’s shoulder, arms, wrists, until he’s finally holding onto the other’s hand. jeonghan gives them a reassuring squeeze. “allez!” come on! he’s stressed. his french is showing. “coffee or alcohol? let’s talk. ça te changera les idées.” it will help take your mind off of things.

the word comes out quick and harsh, as if it’s been decided before baekhyun even brought it up. he paces around his unit, thinks that maybe coming to london is the worst idea he’s ever made - so far. but upon further contemplation, he can’t regret it. not when baekhyun’s here trying to help him. jeonghan hasn’t slept a wink in days. chittock had to force him to take a break because he can’t even focus long enough to complete a sentence, much more handle an entire radio program.
