i do find it very fun that rift 1.5's absence in CC2 has meant that Fated has actually. started to talk to & develop friendships with the rest of Blokz4Brains.... they're actually going to get a chance to know conner, smile & samara..
meanwhile on original CC they only knew conner for a day...only knew Samara as w!shrimp, never spoke to Smile enough to be friends....the only person they ever respected enough not to fuck over (at least until a bit into W3) was Rift...and therefore their unhealthy obsession with bringing him back from the dead. on CC2 that just. isn't a thing. Yes Rift 1.5 acted somewhat differently on CCA, being much colder towards cca!fee as they didn't solely rely on them and therefore never formed the same familial attachment but still. woah.
of course this is still fundamentally the same character from the CC/W3 timeline they are bound to have a lot of trouble maintaining and respecting their friendships. but the fact that they aren't hellbent on making ANY deal to bring back Meta the same way they did for Rift. yet.
in W3, they actually do the selfless thing and. give up their life for Rift 1.5 just to see him one more time, even if it means an eternity in The Void with Herobrine. i mean then they're brought back as w!fated and are all freaked up for a while but
I WOOONDER if Console!Fated will get the opportunity to do that. The right thing, that is. Their mentality right now is that YES, Herobrine's deal is likely bullshit, but they know Smile's life is directly at stake, they know that Samara's life is at stake if they don't comply, that the other people they've began to see as friends will all be in danger is they don't do as Herobrine says. And as Smile pointed out, everyone will hate them for doing Herobrine's dirty work, and could kill the two themselves to stop Herobrine. They care less about the prospect of having their old life back (which they often struggle to remember the positives of) and more about self-preservation. I fear they have already been blamed/shunned by a few people which just. doesn't help their case...
reimagining the 'what if rift 1.5 survived the storm' au now that conner is back as the host & working for herobrine again...... RAHH
