meet conrad, your local pretentious librarian. he's valley born and bred, from a mother that's been in the valley for generations and a father that fled city life to join her and her family in the valley. they were quiet, and older parents, and his father was a big reader, so conrad spent many days indoors or at the valley's library. the greatest days of his childhood are when he got to go to zuzu city and visit its museum
went to the capital for college and then travelled around the ferngill republic AND the gotoro empire AND other countries that are unnamed because I don't know any more canon ones, and he will never, ever, ever shut up about his travels there. like a study abroad guy but worse.
eventually got a bachelors and then a masters in library science and settled back down in the valley with his parents because he loved it and them. he has an inflated ego about how smart and educated he is now, and has plenty of ideas about how to improve the valley. he talks to the mayor — and anyone else who will listen — about his ideas all the time.

Já haviam se passado quatro semanas, vinte e oito dias e intermináveis horas desde que Lola e Conrad haviam se falado pela última vez. O gosto amargo da última conversa, aliás, ainda estava na boca da loira. Ainda lembrava-se de quando as mãos foram furtivamente retiradas da nuca do mais alto, na festa que haviam acabado por se esbarrar. Mas não repudiava totalmente o episódio -- havia sido essencial para que ela engolisse os próprios limites, e pudesse dar um jeito em si mesma de dentro para fora. No dia seguinte daquela festa, a Casillas havia feito o que já devia ter feito há anos: Procurado ajuda profissional. As consultas com um psicólogo, que agora aconteciam duas vezes por semana, eram as coisas mais difíceis que ela já se lembrava de ter feito em anos. Revirar traumas nunca era agradável, mas ainda assim, era necessário. E estava dando certo. Lola não havia notado o peso que carregava em seu peito diariamente até que ele começou, pouco a pouco, a ficar mais leve. Só depois de ter certeza que estava minimamente reconstruída para aquilo, foi que ela decidiu voltar a procurar aquele que fazia falta a seu lado na cama todas as noites.
Já haviam alguns dias que ela estava pensando na melhor forma de aproximação, quando ouviu sobre o show da The Journals. Ficou surpresa, mas logo raciocinou que ela não era a única que poderia estar mudando sua rotina desde os acontecidos entre eles. A roupa que escolheu para ir até o estabelecimento onde eles iriam se apresentar não era escolhido ao acaso: Um vestido preto de seda. O mesmo que havia usado na primeira interação que tiveram depois de se conhecerem na lavanderia, em um cenário muito parecido com aquele em que ela adentrou naquela noite. O show já acontecia a todo vapor quando Lola chegou ao bar, os olhos logo focando-se no rosto conhecido em cima do palco. Era impossível não sorrir pelo menos um pouco. Céus, ela sentia tanta falta dele. Tomou alguns minutos para ela ter coragem de se aproximar, o fazendo quando uma música menos dançante era tocada pelos integrantes da banda, e assim, a platéia a frente ficava mais calma. Entre casais que se juntavam para dançar a nova melodia e uma luz pirotécnica de cor púrpura que deixava todo o ambiente do lugar ardendo no tom mais puro de vermelho, Lola aproximou-se do palco com um sorriso pequeno, erguendo uma das mãos e acenando levemente com os dedos assim que notou os olhos castanhos de Conrad encontrando-se com seus próprios. sky never stopped feeling uncomfortable in a hospital. he should have. besides spending a few months in one overseas, his brother also was one of the favorite doctors in all of ceres centropolis but that still didn’t shake the weird feeling hospitals gave him. when he walked in, he greeted some of the familiar faces (many of them welcomed him and expressed how happy they were that he was okay) and gestured to them that he was going to head to conrad’s office. they didn’t bother directing him to the office and just hoped they’d have a good lunch.
since this was conrad’s office, sky didn’t bother knocking. he just walked into the office, put the take-out burger bags on conrad’s desk (away from the paperwork, of course - he wasn’t an asshole, he was raised properly) and then he took the seat in front of conrad.
“i brought you lunch,” sky grinned at conrad as he leaned back in the chair. “it’s the most delicious, double-bacon, double-patty, all american cheeseburger with extra bacon.” he lied. that was his burger, not conrad’s. // @avgmcnt
