i know everybody wants to ship titans jay & kon but consider instead: conner continuing the “mom” “dad” thing by calling jay his brother and annoying the absolute shit out of him by arguing who’s the older brother
[ @celeste-wxnders // dick & conner bc we’re both salty over the lack of first aid training ]
He couldn’t breathe-- He literally hadn’t felt pain until now, and this was the worst of it. The pain brought out Lex’s memories, some distant part of his mind wanting to know what was going on and the scientist providing answers.
Kryptonite was tearing apart his cells-- Kryptonite gave off a specific form of ionizing radiation that at high levels could cause the breakdown of the specific carbon signature unique to Kryptonians. At high enough levels, it would cause the skin of lab rats and lab rabbits to split open and veins to literally burst apart beneath the weight of blood. Pain receptors reacted like they were being cut with a rusty spoon as it chewed through nerve receptors and left the subject in pain, motionless and bleeding out on the floor.
But not to worry, this was a controlled synthetic kryptonite. The LD50 of kappa radiation was 9 grays, and each bullet was .5 grays. Enough to bright the project down, not enough to cause any long term damage.
He saw the blood dripping onto the red S, remembering Superman and--
No! He was Conner. He was dying. It was scary, and he’d never wanted his parents more but, god his parents were the ones who’d put him in this situation. Who’d abandoned him.
Someone was tearing his shirt away, pouring something in the wound and covering it with thick gauze pad.
He shook his head, trying to push the hand away. He pushed a little too hard, even in his weakened state, felt bones crunch beneath his hand. “S--stop.” He tried to talk through the blood in his mouth and the holes in his lungs. “Io-- Ionizing radiation.”
All Kryptonians glow golden yellow in their veins bc of sunlight radiation but Conner in particular glows slightly blue in his skin cells instead of the veins, because bioluminescence is commonly used in crispr technology to confirm if genes carried over. He has this on top of the glowing veins.
The man who had pushed Jason out the window had come back. Conner was tense. A little scared but trying not to show it. The man was going to hurt Jason again.
Conner had been tucked away in the room he'd woke up in, watching everyone milling around using his x-ray vision. He was still healing. Still sick. Mom had said he would be alright though! That made him happy, that he'd feel better soon.
He had to keep the man from getting to Jason again. He looked for his friend -- saw him and Dick on the roof talking. Jason was safe.
But the man was still here. No one else had noticed, so Conner pulled the monitors off his chest and stood up, a little wobbly. Made his way to the elevator doors to cut the man off, make him go away.
"Hey!" He frowned, arms crossed. Pouting like, well, a child. A very dangerous and powerful child. "You aren't supposed to be here. You need to leave."

[ @voluntadfuerte for bruce ]
au: conner somehow connects with dick’s psychic split and ends up projecting into irl bruce’s head
-- Conner was floating, watching people walking around and argue. His body was in the bed, not quite gone yet. The mind sailing away while the body healed.
He saw an old man, but this wasn’t really the old man. It was interesting, something new to look at. There was a line that appeared and he followed it. It wasn’t as if he had anything else to do. Watching everyone fighting was boring!
The man was in a large parlor, sitting on a couch. Conner suddenly felt heavy, heard his bare feet smack onto the floor as he dropped down. Dropped out of thin air, looking around at everything.
“Is this where you live?”
[ @maraonlaidre gets unplotted conner yeeted @ big sister ]
It would have started ten hours ago, a blurry and shifting, scared, confused shape newly appeared in Kara’s mindscape. As soon as she realized what it was, she would have gone on the hunt for another pod that crashed. Another survivor tossed about a sea of black holes and gravity wells and finally finding refuge on Earth.
But there was no pod, only a naked man covered in blood standing outside of Cadmus Labs. A white dog at his side, growling softly at the woman in the red and blue uniform.
Conner looked away, holding his head. He didn’t know who he was, but somehow he knew so much about this woman. His family, fallen from the stars at a too-young too-old age.
“Kara Danvers.” He spoke the name, but there were no emotions behind it, more of a question. Is that who you are? Is that who I am? “I know you.”
