In Favor of Pragmatism.
In Favor of Pragmatism.
In Favor of Pragmatism.
Pragmastism: a reasonable and logical way of doing things or of thinking about problems that is based on dealing with specific situations instead of on ideas and theories. (Merriam-Webster.com)
My Definition/Opinion:
what gets the job done. Cheaply. Acceptably. At all costs; but preferably cheaper.
Being cautious, conscientious, prepared, practical. Using common sense.

So you failed? Now what...?
In Favor of Failures. (Big and Small) There is a formula for proper criticisms. 1. You compliment. (Find something they are doing right. Tell them you notice it.) 2. You criticize. (Tell them what they need to work on. The negative.) then... 3. You encourage. You Build. You reassure. (Leaving them on a positive note.) Let's try this on you... 1. You are a great worker. You have dreams. You have goals. And you are working towards them. Keep that up! After all, you started your own business. Do You know how many people are wishing they were you... Running a business... Enjoying the fruit of their labors?
2.Unfortunately, You have failed many times. Too many times. You have fallen. Stumbled. Failed. The problem is you are not taking advantage of the many lessons from your past failures. I advise you to look into that. Take advantage of the times you have failed.
3. You have potential to be an expert in your field. In your region. A go-to person when it comes to your craft. Just keep up the good work. Ok. And remember to use all lessons and past experiences. And you will be golden. So... How did I do? Ok? The truth is... Well, actually, it's a fact. We have all failed in something. Yes, we have all fallen. Even if it was just while dreaming. And when you landed you were so glad to wake up. Failure is not pleasant. It's not sought after. We all want success. But, it eludes us all, at one point or another. Failure can affect us similarly to grief. As if we lost someone or something we cared about. So, you need time to recover. To go through the stages. - The disbelief/denial. - The bargaining/loss aversion etc... etc... Five stages in all. While I currently holds no degree in psychology; allow me to add one more stage to our loss recovery. It's where you use what you learn to be better. As a springboard to propel you to new heights. As they say: "What doesn't kill you..." Well, let's do this, then! I am here to implore you: Do Not fail to use the lessons you gained from your failures. Success can be coincidental. You don't know why it worked. Why you succeeded. Failure is not. You know exactly why you failed. You know what you could have done differently or better; or what you should have avoided.
The fact remains, we learn by failing; by making mistakes; and we should expect to fail, here and there. What is not often expected not done is to determine and to use what is learned. Putting all that learning opportunity in a box and burning it. So as to avoid the pain of remembering or of thinking about it can be a waste. A waste of curated, tested, life lessons. I embrace my failures. I have learned that combination is true creativity. So, the next idea I get paid for is attributed to one of my previous ideas that failed. Welcome to your area of expertise. P.S. There is a difference between Failures and Mistakes. Just like there is a big difference between Neglect and Risks. Join me next time so we can clarify the two, together. Before we do that; what is your opinion on the subject? What do you think? What is the difference between Failures and Mistakes?
Your turn.

Definition for: “A Good Time.”
The Definition of “ A Good Time”
Fun: [Def.]
(Noun) Enjoyment, Entertainment, Amusement, pleasure, relaxation.
Fun: What provides amusement or enjoyment. - Merriam Webster's Collegiate Dictionary. 11th ed. I am currently running a survey. I am asking all my friends, family members, and business associates. (Even strangers) the following question: - You have the choice between two different restaurants. Prix Fixe. (You will pay the same amount of money at both) - Now, the first restaurant will give you great service, and attention, but mediocre food. While the Second restaurant has Award Winning Plate, decorated by experienced Chefs accompanied with - horrible service.* - Which will you choose? Restaurant 1 or Restaurant 2? So far the tally is running. I am sincerely surprised by the answers… Let me ask you a question, now… What is your definition of “A Good Time.” Is it only great food, booze, good friends; preferably free? Or do you require an experience? An Ambiance? How about Friendly staff? Courteous host? Or will you settle for: NEXT!!! In the upcoming weeks; we are analyzing, and dissecting your expectations and your satisfaction when it comes to something you paid for. Three Key Words: Hospitality, Luxury, and Empathy. Stay tuned... Now, we are at the end. So pretend this is my first post; and that you like me. And that I made a Fantastic First Impression. Let’s talk again tomorrow.
