For those of us still on the LA side of the world, the weekend started with 12 bright-n-shiny scratch tracks landing in our inboxes.
Steve has been hard at work with the producers over in Nashville, nailing out the exact structure of the songs, fine tuning lyrics and melodies, and dealing with a flurry of facetimes/googlechats/texts/emails/phone calls from us. Okay from mostly Deb. She's his wife OKAY!
Anyway, Deb spent the next 24 hours rehearsing and memorizing new melodies and lyrics (which can make you a crazy person; don't be fooled by the normal person in the picture above). James was wonderfully helpful in dealing with Deb's crippling metronome issues, using "conductor hands" to cue her in when the timing got tricky. Surprisingly, everything was finished in just over two hours--which means we are officially finished with pre-production, and word from Steve is live tracking starts today. Onward & upward!
