Caroline had been let in by who she thought was the Underboss.  However, he seemed to think it was funny when she voiced her conclusion aloud.  He was still laughing as he went to get Marcel while Caroline began to look around in the small portion of the mansion where she had been left to wait.

The wait staff was terrible, she really ought to have one devoted solely to her all evening. She needed someone to keep the booze coming. As she reached out to tap him on the shoulder, the thought of using a teensy bit of compulsion on the boy had crossed Rebekah’s mind. “My glass is empty, I’m pretty sure Ms. Party Planner won’t be happy about tha--” She almost laughed when she had his attention, both because he was not a waiter, he was actually attending, and because of who it was. Her old ‘friend’ and drinking buddy: Tyler bloody Lockwood.
