you draw very distinctly, but rarely make use of traditional features for beauty, which, in moderation, could help with expressiveness without erasing the style (like with less obtrusive noses in people w/ esp. expessive eyes). also, you rarely use light colors for bases, so you usually invoke intense emotions and passionate feelings even in drawings that may be more appropriately lighter. lastly you tend to default to flat lighting rather than using it in conjunction with bg lighting for drama.

Hmm I will try to keep it in mind, though I confess to not really being an expert on what consists as traditionally beautiful (three guesses about what all of my exes have in common, and you're disqualified if none of your guesses was 'a very defined nose'), but yeah that is definitely a think to keep in mind so thank you.
As for light colours for bases, I generally use, well, the homestuck palette for my base colours for everything so i suspect it's more that i go to heavy on the shadows and darker ambient light than the base aha, but i see what you mean. i think a large part here is that i learned to colour with Dualscar, who is nocturnal and generally not really in any place for bright colours, but i will be sure to try and invoke some lighter stuff with my pantheonbent work. I've been meaning to do that anyways!
i am not sure what you mean by the last one though, the "you tend to default to flat lighting rather than using it in conjunction with bg lighting for drama" thing. Are you referring to the general total lack of backgrounds contrasting weird with the shading on the characters or..?

the noses and ahir person, yes that is me. I think i will probably need to either share the the hair person title with cola or fight her to the death for it though.
