Meet my family, we are all fighting for the same thing. We are full of difference races and nationalities but unity as one cohort. You may think this is foolish, but you just don’t understand.

#IAMFORDHALL2015 because I am tired, I am tired of being questioned why I am here. I am tired of being asked what is my purpose, why my life is so relevant I’. m tired of being looked upon like I am a handout. I am tired of being seen as just a body when in all actuality I am a person. I have feelings too. I breathe and walk this campus like everyone does like every other black person has. 

I like others in my family are fighting for our future, our future kids, grandchildren, our families, for those who felt they didn’t have a voice, for equality, for all black lives. And I can speak for myself when I say I am living my mother’s dream, I am fighting for my nieces, for myself because I am tired of having to prove myself when I just want to be me when I want to feel accepted and not judge for the color of my skin. 

#IAMFORDHALL2015 because I deserve to be recognized as a human being. My life has value too. Every single person that I have spent these past 6 days with, that’s my family. I have never felt safer, loved, at peace on this campus until now. We have had each others backs and we will continue to do that. And as we sit here and peacefully continue to fight in solidarity I will stand by my FAMILY. Their lives matter too. After spending over 100 hours together we have built a foundation on love and trust, this family has made me feel nothing but empowered, my life has meaning. I ask you either to stand with us in solidarity or leave us at peace. We have the right to fight for our justice and what we believe in.
