Actually it wasn’t solely based around the whole “Male tears” idea. I only mentioned that as a well known, and fairly recent example to make it slightly more relevant to anyone who felt like reading the post~

Actually what triggered that post was something I saw earlier today. A tumblr user was replying “lmao drinking ur tears” and “moisturizing my face with ur tears mm yes “in response to people getting upset becasue of her complete and total contempt for children. Yes, actual small toddler humans who can't even care for themselves. I don’t usually get upset about things and jsut kinda scroll past, but i think that feeling happy about a child getting hurt or yanked around and saying that they deserved it.. it pretty problematic. And responding in that way is probably even more so.

HOWEVERI see your point! And indeed it is a unique and seperate situation with the way things have turned in favor of feminism! Although, I’m afraid I might be missing some of the finer points of your ask. Sorry about that! 

But honestly, it does usually come across as an insult that doesn’t really allow for any other conversation since it seems to ‘invalidate’ any debate from the receiver.

Uuhh personal opinion time sorry. I think it’s better to have an open conversation and maybe get a feel for maybe how and why the person got to the conclusions they want to argue with me about. I titally agree with you though anon in saying that it may be better not to engage these sorts of people if you don’t want to engage with them.. but i don’t think throwing up a “tears” thing-o will make a difference in getting them to think about how their actions may effect others and even themselves.
