"You do that," Chris sighs, eyes casting around his ready room for one of his officers. It's not the most dignified of responses, it isn't completely befitting of his rank and the respect he should show, but he's spent the last hour at least fielding the other's questions and curiosities. Chris is only so patient.

Of course, neither his first officer or security officer are to be found. They were wise enough to find excuses to be elsewhere.

♡. if  laurel  hadn't  died  would  you  have  ever  come  home  ?  no.  it  was  all  she  had  to  say  when  she  had  that  exact  conversation  with  her  dad  a  few  days  back.  no  because  she  wasn't  good  anymore  ──  because  there  was  blood  on  her  hands  she  couldn't  scrub  clean  &.  sins  she  could  never  atone  to.  a  simple  no  was  all  it  took  &.  she  chose  to  lie  instead;  she  knew  he'd  let  her  but  @computerlads ?  he  didn't  even  have  to  ask  the  question  to  know  the  answer  &.  that  was  exactly  why  she'd  spent  the  1st  week  of  her  return  home  avoiding  him  until  the  pressure  became  insurmountable.
