I'l start off my spam posts on F & E (and probably, the Foundation series as a whole) with a little tidbit that I found hilarious, before I get to serious stuff:
"Councilman, here on Comporellon, every aspect of sex is strongly controlled. It may not take place outside of marriage. Its expression is limited even within marriage." (pg 116)
I would like to take a moment to publicly appreciate that Comporellon, nee Baleyworld, was founded by a man who emotionally cheated on his wife with a Spacer and consummated that emotional attachment at least once willingly (I'll give Elijah credit that he really had no say in Robots of Dawn, but Robots and Empire heavily implies one other occasion). Irony can be a truly beautiful thing.
And that's not even getting into what his feelings for one Daneel Olivaw were.
