the plan was to go to fairy godmotherâs as soon as she came and dragged jay away from the scene. sheâd explain the situation    say that jay was merely standing up for her, that everything got blown out of proportions due to the amount of kids watching and making a ruckus; maybe she could even pin the blame on herself, too. bianca had a near spotless record ( the few times she had gotten accused of something, she managed to talk her way out of it, justifying her actions as entirely necessary for her very important for her investigations ), so surely theyâd go easy on her.
but even biancaâs knack for picking locks wasnât enough to get past a door warded off by magic. there were hall monitors around, too, and it was clear they did not want her there, or even to listen to what she had to say. waiting in jayâs dorm was the next best thing, she decided. that one was far easier to break into, and bianca settled for sitting in his bed while thinking of a way to help him out of this    a terrible decision, she quickly realized. focusing on anything other than his impending punishment was near impossible. would they make him attend remedial classes until he graduated? would he get kicked out of tourney? oh heavens, what if they sent him back to the isle? stupid assumption, biancaâs more rational side told her. they wouldnât do that, after all the work it took to bring the vks to auradon in the first place.
or would the parameters be different because of where he came from? would they be less lenient? bianca realized with a sinking sensation that she did not know what to expect. out of all the times her knowledge-hungry self was frustrated for being left in the dark, this one was certainly the worst.
slender fingers rapidly tapped against her arm, crossed legs jittering slightly as her gaze remained set on the door. he had to be done by now, right? it didnât make sense for their talk to take so long. okay, this is stupid, bianca thought to herself suddenly. iâm going to go get him.
she was deadset on crashing through fairy godmotherâs office if she had to, but the door to the room promptly opened all of a sudden. immediately, bianca rose from her seat, suddenly breathless. deep-blue hues held his gaze for a moment, before she finally found her voice.
â    what were you thinking?â maybe he was expecting her to thank him, or even act a little more gently   but for once, bianca was feeling everything all at once and she needed to get everything out. âyou were doing such a good job of keeping your record clean. wasnât this what you wanted??â while always proper and contained, bianca was certainly getting rowdy now, her voice rising and slender arms gesturing wildly. âwhy did you have to go and ruin that?? and for me, no less!â she spoke as if the notion was entirely ridiculous; she wasnât worth anyone ruining what little good someone had in life. âit wasnât worth all this, honestly.â
