JOHN S.O.A.P. ~ CHAPTER 13
Wednesday, 12/17/25
SCRIPTURE:
Jesus responded, “Those who have bathed need only to have their feet washed, because they are completely clean. "You disciples are clean, but not every one of you.” ~ John 13:10
OBSERVATION:
Could this serve as a reminder to confess those things I do and say that are the "small sins" of just being human?
Having confessed Jesus as my only way to "gettin' right with God," and since I'm still "walkin' around this dusty world" as an imperfect human...
reacting before thinking -
watching my language and/or my tone of voice,
following some distraction,
deciding to do what I want, despite the (His), "still small voice" -
all often after-the-fact...
In short, continuing - ongoing - disobedience -
sinning in His eyes...
"walking in the way of world..."
despite having "bathed in Jesus's saving sacrifice..."
...failing to watch my step...
As and to use this example as a call to be available for others who are stumbling along the dusty, muddy road with me...
APPLICATION:
Rest washed...
Walk in and with Him...
...but wash my feet - as often as necessary...
PRAYER:
Father God - Thank You for this reminder that though I continue to stumble and tumble, I can come to You in confession for those things that I do - often repeatedly - that disobey Your will for my life - that come from my own wandering to the side of Your path... Thank You for Jesus's saving me - cleansing me - and for this reminder that He understands, and that the enemy is the one that would have me down look at my own feet instead of up to Him and You... In His precious, forgiving Name, and for Your praise and worship and honor and glory...
Yours - in Him, through Him, and by Him...
