I was going to explain this in the tags of that post but it really quickly turned into a wall of text so like quick explainer on where some of the space communists are at with homophobia
Faust: Was the way she was because she was from a very homophobic world and was never in community with other LGBT people, kind of just formed all her takes with no input from anyone else due to not having anyone else to talk to. Progressive by her worlds standards but definitely stood out when around other gay people who were involved in a LGBT community basically anywhere
Da-Rae: From a rural area on a world where being LGBT wasn't seen as a Bad thing necessarily but not "normal". She really didn't know alot about it beyond that she didn't judge anyone for it and chose to educate herself after realizing she was working with a pretty limited mindset. Is bisexual and is aware of this but doesn't identify as gay herself because in her perspective it "doesn't count" if she hasn't actually ever had a relationship with a woman. Keeps saying she gets it when Lin Wei tries to tell her that's ridiculous and then says she's straight the next time her sexuality comes up anyway
Wei: Gay man from a city with a thriving LGBT culture, most progressive of the communist party leaders on this stuff by far. Feminist, transfeminist, trans ally. Against marriage and the integration of patriarchal familial structures into gay culture. His husband is not as radical as he is on this stuff which is why he calls him his husband when he's around but sticks with "boyfriend" and "life partner" when he's not listening. Often laments falling in love with a guy who considers himself to be nonpolitical, his husband often laments falling in love with a communist guerilla fighter, theres some conflict sometimes,
Julian: Trans man from a world where being trans is heavily medicalized to the point where it's not seen as a part of the gay community at all. Theres kind of alot going on with his personal perspective on himself because of this but basically he's someone who had a really regressive take on being trans and then one day the Cosmoists held a vote on what their official stance on it all was going to be, "Should we see being trans as a way that some people just are or is it a illness that must be diagnosed", he voted illness and then lost and now holds the party line and has since genuinely come around to a more progressive view on things as well. So similarly to Da-Rae he's someone who actively had to educate himself because he wasn't in community naturally but also came in with a Bad Take because he was put through the torture labyrinth himself and hadn't fully grasped the issues with it yet
Ok also on Paul there is a sect of far right people in the empires military mostly comprised of old bug war veterans who were beginning to plan to launch a coup and replace Paul as high chancellor with someone else, seeing him as a Disgrace To His Fathers Name Driving The Empire Toward Degeneracy and such. Tiffany was within this faction but they ended up never really actually Forming outside of some discussion because the communist revolution basically happened first and it was kind of all hands on deck from there (and Tiffany specifically got shot and killed before the revolution even started).
The Bug War veterans that ended up far right leaning (not all of them but a good portion of the ones who went into military careers and didnt retire before hitting 60 went this route, and of course everybodys extremely right Already so keep in mind "far right for a fascist empire") tend to really dislike Paul because Paul wasnt even born when the war began and was only 10 when it ended. They do see him as someone who doesnt understand REAL STRUGGLE AND SACRIFICE, a Weak Man Creating Hard Times unlike his badass father who had people shot on the street for criticizing him like a real man.
They do also see him as a enemy to the working class because his desire to avoid another war has cut off the only route of class mobility possible in the empire, which is getting a military career and ascending with Grand Achievements In Battle. Of course though this faction doesn't want there to be any other way to Not be born poor and then die poor because they see military achievement as basically the only thing that truly measures a persons worth, but they of course see themselves as for the people because of this
Sci fi communist oc's lore posting again dont mind me. Ok so one of the biggest effects of Bloody Feburary was everybody got like really serious about opsec afterwards, obviously they always were but the whole Event exposed some pretty big gaps due to the whole "one guy was able to compile a list of thousands of people spanning every active anti-empire group in the galaxy" thing. What this mainly looks like for the communauts is if they dont trust you youre working as a propagandist until they do and I do think theres a ton of people whos only job has been posting on space twitter for years
Ok I had to make this one a separate post because I have one digital image of the leader of The League To Revive The Galactic Conglomerate and its this
Heres Pierre!
