Little side-mentions of lore like this are the ones that keep me up at night
-Is he just assuming all faeries are as lazy as he is?
-What makes it difficult? Did Poe work really hard to make Emily's door-key?
-This is probably just a sloppy retcon but in the next book they discover the faerie had just stuck a key in that knob and locked it. Maybe the key is really, really hard to turn? Maybe he's too tiny to reach the knob easily? Maybe the key is made from iron, to discourage the faerie gatekeeper from locking doors on a whim?
-When Wendell sent the fauns to "repair" that one British door (and other doors? Can't remember), did they just unlock something and then it was repaired? Or did he choose them for that job bc "repairing" is more involved magic-wise and they've shown how good they are at maintaining doors.
-Who made the nexus? The fauns? Some ancient monarch in one of those six realms? And how did that poor brownie get stuck with the job of gatekeeper?
-What unholy chaos did the guardians unleash on his humble abode that was the last straw?
