Also what chrome extension did you need to figure out because of this project?
just, like, chrome extensions in general. id never used them before. but now i use the floating comment box and the comment kudos button because they make commenting on long AND short fics so much easier
floating comment box is good because you can type in your thoughts as you go along, and even insert quotes from the fic
comment kudos button is good because if i like a fic but dont have much else to say (because im tired, burned out, or just dont have a lot of words going on in my brain) i can just click it and it generates a nice comment for the author which is along the lines of what i wouldve said anyway

I like to write any comments I have on a fic in public bookmarks so I and others going thru them can see my thoughts easier. If I have questions or want to address the author directly I’ll write a comment, but I do that less often. The main difference is “This fic is great and you should read it. It has a,b,c-” vs “I love this fic because of how you wrote a,b,c-“.
Does it make a difference to authors if I only do the bookmark? Do authors read public bookmarks? Would it help at all if I copy-pasted and my bookmark notes in the comments (with a little rewording) just to cover my bases?
