A Transmission from the Captain
Thank you for keeping me updated. I’m shocked to hear that he was able to get the best of Agent Patel, but I’m still not convinced his warnings are much beyond idle threats. Dalca tends not to leave his home turf if he can help it.
Regarding Patel, I hope you understand that he was well aware of the risks he took on as part of his job. He died in service, doing what he did best. I hope it can be a consolation to all of you, as it is to me, that even in his final moments, he found a way to protect us.
I can offer you some good news: I know what Patel’s message meant. Part of it, anyway. The first two words refer to a location on Calamity, but that’s just to throw Dalca off the scent. It’s really a reference to a person, Mason Parish, who is a mutual friend of ours. I’ll reach out to Mason ASAP and see why Patel wanted us in touch with him.
Keep me informed. If Dalca sets foot in the valley, I’m pulling you all out of there. You can all join me on the resort moon for the rest of filming! I think you’d love it here. Right now, it’s late afternoon, and there’s a pod of butterfly whales breaching outside my suite window.
