“I started it? You called me Maple! You reminded me of all those stupid kids that used to put maple leafs in my locker back at school and drip syrup all over my stuff!”

        “FINN!” The shout of delight left Steven before he could really think         about it, and his arms wound securely around the taller boy’s waist         in a hug, laughter bubbling past his lips. It felt like it’d been too long         since they’d seen each other, and Steven smiled up at him brightly. 

steven: THAT’S BANANAS. i fought a giant foot by sticking my face into a bowl of cereal once....... those were the days

                   ❝   DON’T YOU EVER NOTICE IT ?   the lies that they tell us every day  &&.  night to hush us, keep us calm ?   you can be ANYTHING if you put your mind to it.  isn’t our fate already SEALED ?  don’t we already know enough to see through the fairytales  &&.  smiles ?  i don’t understand how you can stay so OPTIMISTIC,  even as the weight of the world is crashing.  even as the  SKY ITSELF  seems to give up on itself, sometimes.  don’t we, too,  need a break from the cheerful lies ?  from a sunshine that beats down too HEAVILY to be natural.  we spend our  ENTIRE LIVES  standing at the brink of the void  &&.  trying to pretend its not there. we fill the void of truth  &&.  SORROW  with empty promises of a  brighter future. 

                                                                    but what if i have no future ?  what if my future would not even ultimately MATTER ?  who should care ?  there is no brighter future  ;;  we cling onto the hope.   ❞

       “Have you seen a pumpkin with legs around here?” Lapis’ question, though        it came out of seemingly nowhere, was tinged with just a hint of frustration.        She hated bringing Pumpkin into Beach City, she had the bad habit of        wandering off, and Lapis hated losing her.
