This was my second Hand and afoot ceremony. My first was covering Regina King. On this occasion it was to honor legendary comedienne Lily Tomlin currently best known for her role as Frankie in Grace and Frankie the longest running sitcom on Netflix. Jane Fonda accompanied Lily on this occasion. Jane had her hand and foot ceremony in 2013. There was a good crowd attending with in the TCL Chinese barrier and outside. Both Jane and Lily spoke. Jane spoke first. Jane was funny and reflective and on occasion traded up with in movingly joyous moments. She then introduced Lily. Lily was adorable. Lily spoke of her youth and transition to celebrity from being a hippy. Then she entered the process of placing her hands and feet in the cement. After placing her hand and feet in the cement she pulled out Edith Ann's little tenny shoes to add to he own footprints. I think Edith Ann represent ms the child in us in Lily and was an important addition to the ceremony. Lily was ecstatic showing off her hands to everyone. She had 5 attendees helping her on the cement for a couple of reasons. It's actually difficult to leave imprints in cement. You have to bear down. Lily is 82 after all and though she is steady for her age but a fall from the cement pad would be unattractive and potentially dangerous. Lily was funny and joyous throughout and it was a lovely and moving ceremony.
