hello again, lovely people!

as some of our fab prompters may have noticed, we didn’t use all the prompts that were sent to us for the flashfic challenge this weekend – because you people are so amazing and sent SO MANY.

dizzy with the success of the last flashfic challenge we did a quick brainstorm and decided that the only thing to do was DO IT AGAIN. except this time will be a little bit different:

on saturday the 27th of april at noon BST (4am PDT / 7am EDT / 1pm CEST / 11pm NZT) we’re flashing in slow-motion! more of a marathon than a sprint. (but you can do it as a sprint, if you want.)

there will be no heats and instead of 2 hours you will have 24 hours from when the prompts are released until the collection is closed. 

there will only be one collection to post all fics in – and the fics will all be hidden until the challenge is over, so the people who finish later won’t be distracted by the shiny, shiny fics that get uploaded first. once the challenge is over all the fics will be revealed and it’ll be HEEEEY FICMAS (we hope).

some things will stay the same, though: 

you can sign up to receive the prompts by email by sending a message to [email protected] (no later than Thursday the 25th of april) or you can find them on this blog where they’ll be posted when the marathon begins. as usual, signing up for the email doesn’t mean you’re under any obligation to write.

there will be a collection for fics written at a more leisurely jog pace for the stories that aren’t completed in the 24 hours which will stay open.
