i was practicing sabre in my yard today and these kids biked by and then one of them quoted the patricia vine at me
guard camp day 2: “crap, dude.”
today was a day of infinite bruises. we did attitude jumps into a roll in dance block and i got a really bad bruise on my shin. then my rifle hit my leg a few times, and i bruised my other knee coming out of a handstand.
then we had sabre. and oh man, i was not prepared for the pain. this is my guard’s first year ever having sabres so none of us really knew what to expect. i cut 2 of my fingers on the cage, bruised one, and bruised my hand in 2 places. but it actually went really well and i’m looking forward to being on sabre line!
more dancing and sabre tomorrow, and we’re also finally getting our choreography!! i’m super excited to learn our swing flag work since they’re so pretty☺️
parade season is starting up soon so here’s a friendly reminder to all of the lovely guard people out there to take care of your wrists and shoulders!! stretch, ice, tape, whatever you need to do to keep them strong and in good condition☺️👌

I get considerably less sleep on staff than I did as a performer at WGI. I’ve drank more coffee in the past 3 days than I have in the last year. It’s almost 1 and we have to get up in 5 hours to start an 18 hour day. Time for sleep
I’m going to end up on an episode of Forensic Files because the person who murders me is going to get caught due to the unique mix of chalk, rosin, and stadium turf that perpetually coats everything I hold dear
